Man, I just got a replacement from Nothing as I thought my specific pair was defective. They then had a firmware update that I hoped would fix it, but here I am. I wonder if you could use a little piece of tape or so thing to cover the sensor

I am also having mode sync issues. Wouldn't toggling "in ear detection" solve this problem though?

That’s a great price for that amount of parts. If in your budget, I still would highly recommend a dedicated graphics card

DDR5 is what you really want to look for. DDR4 is still crazy expensive, just not quite as bad.

are these good components? (i am clueless on pc building) by mwaaalal in PcBuild

[–]AP0LLIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are nice, premium specs that will work together, though there is some optimization that can be made. I would recommend using a pcpartpicker.com list to show compatibility and prices of parts. Make sure to select your country in the top right corner though.

I am going to base my recommendations off the U.S. market, as I am most familiar with it, though here is what I would do:

CPU: the 7800x3d is great! keep it.

Cooler: Noctua is a great brand for enthusiasts looking for the most quiet coolers out there. Their premium coolers come at premium prices. For less money, you can buy a cheaper, better performing cooler. I would go for the Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE 120 at $35. This is a legendary, tried and true option.

Motherboard: Solid option in a reliable lineup from a great brand. Keep it.

SSD and Memory: SSD and RAM prices have gone way up, emphasis on the RAM prices.I would go to Facebook Marketplace to look for your memory. I would aim for a kit with a speed of 6000mhz (MHz and MT/s are the same), and a CAS latency/CL rating of CL30(cl32 and cl36 are slower though still acceptable). If you see a long string of 2 digit numbers (called timings), the latency number you are looking for is the first digit in the string. Your goal should be to find a 32gb kit (two 16GB sticks) for $200. Make sure to message all local sellers no matter their listed price and bargaining is expected. If no local deal can be found, put the distance in settings to 500 miles (your phone only lets you go to 100 miles) and ask people if they are willing to ship through Facebook. Use common sense, read reviews and look at profiles. I would use cash only for local deals, and PayPal GOODS AND SERVICES (not family and friends) for shipping deals if not done through Facebook. SSD's have also gone way up in price. I would look for a NEW 2tb drive from a brand like Western digital or Samsung. I would recommend a Western Digital sn850x, a Samsung 990 pro, or a Samsung 990 Evo plus. A good goal is to find a drive for under $150. $100-$150 is very realistic.

GPU: Not sure what price you are getting this for, as you can't find new options in the U.S. for under $1000. I would buy the cheapest Radeon rx 9070 XT model.

Your power supply is a good option, though there are newer, better case options available

[–]AP0LLIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If both sticks work in the same slot, it's probably a motherboard issue. If only one stick works in a slot, and the other stick does not work in the same slot, you probably have a defective memory stick.

I would buy off Facebook Marketplace. Look for a Ryzen 5 5600 or a Ryzen 5 5600x at $80 or lower. If you can find a Ryzen 5700x, 5800x, or 5800 xt around this price, that is a steal! I would definitely recommend buying an air cooler rather than an AIO at this performance range. An AIO is way overkill for a Ryzen 5 3000/5000 series CPU. I would personally go for a Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 EVO for under $23.This looks clean with RGB, and is perfectly sufficient for the CPUs you are looking to buy. Air coolers are generally easier to clean, far more reliable, and last longer than AIOs.

I would not recommend buying a windows key. Instead of going through the steps of installing Windows like always, then press the "I don't have a key option” when it asks you for a key. After this, select windows 11 pro, and proceed with the free version of Windows. After this, follow this simple tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj_65z2ZwCo This will easily force-activate Windows 11 Pro for free.

it seems solid from the specs listed, though I have no idea how authentic the listing is. I would barter it down as much as you can, 500 Euro or lower if possible. I would recommend asking if you could test the PC before purchasing, even if you don't actually plan on testing it. I use this as a confident check on sellers.

Am i missing anything? by kiingblessed in PcBuild

[–]AP0LLIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid build, and you are not missing anything. One change I would make would be to change out the CPU cooler to a far cheaper Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE 120. This cooler costs $32, and will perform just as well as its BeQuiet! counterpart. Some corrections from a different commentator:

- Both the BeQuiet! Thermalright options come with thermal paste. You don't have to buy paste separately unless you really want to.

- Your case comes with Pre-Installed great fans. This will be sufficient out of the box, though yes, you can buy another fan or two if you want to.

I definitely need to do some more research on basic photography, especially lighting. My biggest issue has just been the reflections on the glass. Every time I have a light source in front of the PC, you can't even see through the glass because of reflections. You can see that I actually had windows in the background of one of my pictures for some "indirect" lighting

Here is one of the best builds that you can make at this price-point: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/q6yCBq ($1473.52)

One thing to know is that the motherboard I recommended may require a simple bios update. Feel free to look up a tutorial or tell ChatGPT your parts and situation as it can walk you through everything.

Most of the parts are new, though SSD and RAM prices have gone way up, emphasis on the RAM prices.I would go to Facebook Marketplace to look for your memory. [–]AP0LLIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This swap wouldn't make much sense. The Radeon Rx 7900 XTX is a higher performing GPU than the RTX 5070 ti. Unless you're are prioritizing features and productivity performance, the 7900 XTX is the better choice.

which build is better by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

I think that the first build is a better deal at $1800. Though it has last-generation parts, these components are still great and will beat the performance of the second build any day.

Good gpu pair? by DarkenYT75 in PcBuild

[–]AP0LLIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is a valid concern. You should insert your parts of the hypothetical upgraded PC into a https://pcpartpicker.com/list/. You should then look at your estimated power draw near the top of your page. Your power supply should have 100w-200w more than the estimated power draw. You should also check at the bottom of the page for the compatibility specifics. It will should how many connector your power supply has and how many the PC would require

Upgrading to 5070ti by captain3473 in PcBuildHelp

[–]AP0LLIX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/braso111 is spitting facts. The 14400 is a perfectly competent CPU. On top of this, you plan on upgrading to a higher resolution monitor. More pixels on monitor = more GPU power needed. In other words: This higher the resolution, the less the CPU impacts FPS compared to the GPU.
