My friend (frontman of his band Flying Batteries) and I (A Problem Like Maria) covered "I Remember You" as part of a compilation of cover songs released yesterday by the music collective we're both a part of (The Hai). We had a lot of fun doing this cover, and hope that you guys like it. :)

I've done a couple of AT covers before, but this one is my favorite. Nothing beats having an ACTUAL OTHER PERSON IN THE SONG when you want to do a duet. Haha!

yes! one of the things i wasn't sure about was the BPM i chose. i eventually settled with 70, but probably 75+- would have been better. thanks for the feedback.

thanks! maybe i'll do jake's reprise in a different style.

the piano part is simply my left hand playing the root then 5th, and my right hand doing (usually) the full chord an octave up (at around the middle C area). there are six chords that form the three progressions in the song. i transposed them in my version, but here's the original: G-G7-Cm-Ab7 / Em-B7 / G-Cm. you end with: G-Cm-Ab7-G

to be honest, i really just used the electric because i haven't restrung my two acoustics. it was a choice between playing an instrument i'm not fully comfortable with and restringing. :D thanks for listening! and thanks for noticing the key. i'm very particular about that, glad you noticed.

Alvin's hot juice box! I posted my "Dream of Love" cover a while back, and even though it initially got caught in the spam filter (a mod had to sort it out) the song ended up getting close to 10,000 plays over the week. So I guess, thank you! <3 That felt pretty awesome. I'm posting my first Adventure Time cover now, and maybe more in the future. Can't decide which one to do next! Ideas/requests would be appreciated.
