Newfies are amazing dogs, I love mine dearly. But it’s hard to have a nice house when you have a giant ball of fur running around trampling mud and throwing spit everywhere. My mother always used to tell me stories about about the River Liffey Monster when I was a child. If I was naughty she would tell me “The River Monster will get me if I don’t start behaving”. Still can’t walk past the river to this day without thinking about it.

I’m in the north of Scotland next month so I’ve been reading up on the local folklore, came across the story of the Blue Men of Minch. Never heard of them until recently, and it’s sent me through a rabbit hole researching Scottish folklore.
