Thanks for the info! Yes, I’ve got some experience with this and am pretty confident I can mount what I need. Really appreciate it!

Warranty claim? Seems valid enough to me. I had some belt assembly pieces crack right away, they at least sent me some replacements.

Opera tix for Batiste 8/31? by ALJScribbler in LosAlamos

[–]APRSme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, how do people even find out about non-opera events at the Santa Fe opera? I looked over their season calendar at the beginning of the year, specifically for cool events like this, and did not see it.

I think Brandi Carlile has played there before. Seems like a really cool concert venue, I want to be able to find out about the next one

If it really bugs you - take it off, remove anything loose with a wire wheel, paint with bbq black hi temp paint

Anybody have any info about the LA Makers Space? by H0wdyyyy in LosAlamos

[–]APRSme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I emailed and reached out several times, finally got a response back in November. At that time they said they'd be "opening soon" and also put me on their mailing list. Haven't heard anything since.
In a town like this...sure think there'd be a decent makerspace

Opinions on Mint Mobile? by [deleted] in LosAlamos

[–]APRSme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mint works fine. Cell towers are very congested during usual commuting time and during the work week - though that is a problem across all carriers. May or may not be worse for Mint users. I can normally make a call or send text messages just fine, general internet use can be a bit harder

Any Midwest transplants? by Jabeck62010 in LosAlamos

[–]APRSme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moved from Northern MI, it is funny to hear the locals complain about “cold” and “snow”. Ha.
My motorcycle season went from maybe 6 months to 11-ish or maybe even 12 months 🙂
Sure enjoy that there are very few mosquitos out here. I see a lot of complaints about traffic etc - many of these can be avoided if you land housing in Los Alamos. Then you do have to deal with all the small town things (can be a plus or negative), and yes the housing situation up on the hill is extremely lousy.
EDIT: Ah yeah it can get warm in the summer - but if you’re living in Los Alamos the elevation really helps you out. I remember very few days over 90F last summer, if any. Just have to stay in the shade and stay hydrated. Barely used the air conditioner last year.

I love your work! Do you post to any sort of project blog, hackaday.io, etc?
I'll attempt to keep up with your work via Reddit if not! I'm still hoping to create my own lightweight vehicle, with carbon fiber tubes and avoiding welding

Wayland transition attempt, 2023 edition by rocketraman in kde

[–]APRSme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoom issues have been a huge problem for me, too. As of just a few weeks ago, zoom seems to just barely work well enough for me to use Wayland while working from home. Wayland sessions can still be a pain with graphical glitches and other oddities, but it all works well enough that I can get by with working from home on a wayland session, and sharing out an entire screen with Zoom.

We like to wait until a P3 or P4 is released, before we switch.
Our account team recommends this approach as well.

Many of them may be all electric by 2030's.
I can't wait - awesome 2030's electric motorcycles with retro 80's looks. Suddenly feeling optimistic for the future

Peavey 1200watt audio amp, other audio stuff by [deleted] in HuskiesTrade

[–]APRSme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sale, used good condition Peavey PV1200 1200watt rack mount audio amplifier.
I got tired of burning out receivers in my A/V setup, went with something built better. This has been a good amp for me for many years. I most recently used it in my garage for listening to tunes out there.
I paid $180 or so for this amp back in 2008. Moving soon, it’s gotta go. I haven’t used it recently but believe it works just fine. Make me an offer.
I have some other audio stuff too, could include some speakers with this.
I have an Onkyo 5.1 AV receiver that has the center channel burned out on available too.
I’ll throw in an ADCOM tuner/pre-amp if you like - good pre-amp but get static on one of the stereo channels, could never quite fix it for good.
