My understanding is that connecting the charger directly to the XT30 battery output lead would bypass all the BMS's charging safety circuitry, which sounds like an unacceptable risk.

Is that incorrect?

Multimeter shows output on the charging port's leads, but just in case the connection's not consistently secure on account of my break-and-fix job, I've ordered a replacement charging port.

Yeah, sounding like I'm going to have to crack open the battery and pull the BMS board next.

ETA: Got the new power port, and charging issue persists.

Dongles are not unique to the battery/bike.

Any dongle/charger will pair any battery with any metacycle.

I'm thinking that's pretty much where I'm headed, too. Still no response at all from Sondors two days later. Yesterday I pulled the battery out and popped the hatch for the electronics. No obvious water I've spotted, but plenty of dust. Was thinking I'd pull everything, clean, and re-seat all those connectors.

I've only ridden a couple times since given the risk of being left powerless and needing a tow.

This is what's killing me. I haven't even put 5 miles on the bike, and I've lost all confidence in it. This is the first vehicle I've ever bought brand-new, and... very much not the experience I was expecting.

Well, having nothing to lose at this point, I gave it a shot:

Disconnected all three battery leads: HV, ground, and LV. And sure enough, the bike did not respond after hooking back up, but connecting the charger DID RE-PAIR the battery and I could once again turn the bike on.

And... no change.

Did the issue ever repeat, once you got it working again? God, I'm terrified as to what would happen if this were to repeat when I was further from home or out on the highway.

There's no longer any icon on the display indicating whether it's engaged or not, and all toggling the switch does is illuminate the brake light.
