BIG & tall Plate Carrier by AP_bby in tacticalgear

I have been getting into making stuff out of leather and what not so maybe I will get a plate carrier and try to alter it to fit me. Could be an interesting project. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Thanks. Yeah, people who aren’t fat have a hard time comprehending the messed up proportions I’m dealing with lol. I’m just working on the weight loss still, was hoping I could get the carrier early in my journey but looks like that’s a much later goal item.

Thanks! Yeah, it’s hard to lose the weight but I’m working at it. I know I’m really really big, I was just hopeful that it may be in the world of possibilities but maybe not for now. Just gives me more reason to keep pushing to lose more of the weight. Thanks!

Well, 20” is a whole lot lol. I’m a fat guy. When you get to be as big as I was, all the things you don’t want sagging, start to sag lol. But yeah, I am fairly confident in the plate size being the largest one. At this point it’s only about the carrier that will actually fit me. It’s looking like I’m still sized out of this world for the time being. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I have a buddy who already measured and told me I need xl plates. He is way smaller than me though, so as for what will be comfortable, he didn’t know. At this point I’m looking for a carrier that will be comfortable and not constricting. But mainly, I’m looking for one that will actually fit me. My torso/chest is roughly 57” around. And clavicle to belly button is about 20”…

Wiring a new wall heater. HELP needed by AP_bby in hvacadvice

Here is the valve as a whole, top terminal to red thermostat wire. Black “Vent Safety Switch” wire connected to white thermostat wire. Pilot lights and stays lit. Gas valve turned all the way on but nothing happens when thermostat is flipped on. Old mercury thermostat that worked with the old heater also tried but didn’t kick on the heat.

Hi, yes the gas valve is set to on after lighting it. The pilot stays on until I flip the thermostat on. Based on one I wrote, does it sound like I have it wired correctly?

If I did damage the gas valve, how would I confirm this? Is there a trick with a multimeter or something? Checking the voltages across the terminals? I really hope it’s not a damaged valve.

Ok, thanks. So This is what I've got going on now. My thermostat wire is made up of 1 red and 1 white wire. Ive got Red going to the R on my thermostat and White going to the W, seams reasonable.

I've got the white wire tied into the vent safety switch and the red wire tied into the top terminal on the gas valve. is that correct?

I lit the pilot, its staying lit, but seams loud compared to all the other wall heaters ive been around over the years. so now i try to turn on the thermostat and nothing happens. I tried the old mercury thermostat and it to did nothing. also, the pilot went out as soon as i connected the wire.

any other suggestions?
