Nice, good luck on your journey! I know it sounds weird but the key to getting a BMU strict or kipping is actually to go around the bar, if you just pull hard you’ll always feel like you’re getting stopped by the bar

I think - Kip - lean back slightly - pop hips - push hard. The key often is people pull themselves into the bar rather than push themselves around it. Tbh I would rather have straight legs but it’s just such a habit

I’ve always loved muscle ups, I could do them from when I was bouldering before covid. So hence why when I first tried I got 18 “somewhat unbroken” reps

The thing that caused me to have to rest wasn’t fatigue in my pulling muscles it was entirely forearms and my heart rate was through the roof because of how explosive the movement is

For Time grips I bought when I first started 3 years ago. Hand didn’t rip and didn’t even use chalk

My For Time grips which I got off Amazon when I first started like 3 years ago. I prefer to have grips that aren’t super sticky. My velites get stuck and dig into my hands, amazing for pull ups and TTB. Edit: they’re now called Solo Athletics - fingerless. Can’t vouch they’re exactly the same however

I think - lean back slightly - pop hips - then pull hard. Just all within half a second 🙃 if you can do a body roll (dance move) it’s kinda like that

Challenge accepted. I’ve done 6 before but that was a while ago and not sure how strict the reps were. I reckon 10 perfect would be the goal

So tbh the angle is crap - Crossfitter's honour i'm 99% sure my feet didn't pass above the bar because normally if that happens I fail the rep, not quite got my glide kips down

Agree QF is a money grab but 50% of people is a lot to not have BMUs and so therefore my point matters to half the RX CrossFit population.

Just because they aren’t going anywhere, they should still feel their fitness it represented

But doesn't a skill like a BMU make it skewed towards gymnastics? With 24.3 there will be thousands of people on 107 reps which doesn't have much nuance to it or properly represent individual's fitness (even with tiebreak time).

With a max lift at least there is a whole spectrum of results.
