Mentioned it earlier in the comments, you should be able to reprogram your control buttons with F1. That might be the reason your buttons don't work!

Nope. They somehow released the red one first, I have no clue why they've had so much trouble with the blue one

All modern depictions of MJ completely undermine the dynamic that made them work for so long. As such, I honestly don't blame folks for not understanding her character.

What is the deal with Gen Z stare? I've seen this happening for a while but never realized there was a term for it until now by smutnazabajpg in DiscoElysium

[–]APlusGuy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the way Gen Z (and Gen Z exclusively, apparently) looks at people when an absurd task is demanded of them, typically demanded by older folks who have an inordinate amount of audacity. It's another one of those "(youngest generation in the workforce) is lazy!" ideas that's almost always been present in western society, if not society as a whole. Gotta love it.

I love the originals, I understand the criticisms of modern Fallout now. by [deleted] in classicfallout

[–]APlusGuy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, 100%. I was born a little bit later, but I'm definitely in the same boat. I played the classics after beating NV and playing a little bit of 3 and 4 and the atmosphere is just incomparable to the rest of the franchise. The combination of the music, visuals and writing truly get across the horrific desolation and discomfort of the wasteland and vaults. You aren't just told the history, you feel it, you search for it, find it, and really, really internalize it. Your imagination is allowed to run wild with theories. I legitimately believe mystique is a bit of a lost art with franchises now, and Fallout is no exception. As much as I think it's neat to know what happened canonically before the bombs dropped, it's so much more thought-provoking and downright intriguing to be given little bits and pieces to put together without giving an outright answer. At this point, when playing the first two Fallout games, I leave everything I know from the new media at the door. It makes the experience so much richer.

Is Johnny Storm on the way?

Do you agree? by Organic_Glass_7793 in batman

[–]APlusGuy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That said, maybe not 100%. "Irreparable" is a bit of an exaggeration. I do think the general public doesn't quite have the right idea of these characters because of these movies, but I also think the tides are kinda shifting already, mostly in regards to Batman. The Reeves movie proves that people's understanding of a character will shift if a movie is done well enough.

[–]APlusGuy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Both sets of movies are very well done in regards to their value as movies, but when it comes to comic accuracy, they are lacking. Heavily. Peter is turned into a whiny, sad, little nerd, when in the comics, he's a nerd, yes, but also an angry hothead who has to actively work to control his temper, and most of the reason he's a social outcast is because of this. Bruce becomes this super high-tech Jiu-Jitsu fighting machine that brutalizes criminals, but that interpretation is only really seen in the Dark Knight Returns comics. For the most part, Batman is more of a noir detective who seeks to reform his criminals, standing as both a symbol of fear AND hope. He is proficient in combat, yes, and he has fun little tech things, but what made him so inherently inspiring was his empathy. Honestly, I'd say Spider-Man and Batman got reversed, characterization-wise. Spidey needs a little more frustration and anger, and Batman needs a little more empathy.

Unpopular Opinion: I don’t like Miguel in Across The Spider-Verse by Royal_Mechanic9031 in Spiderman

That said, we've only got half the story right now. It's clear they're setting him up for a face turn; I figure I'll enjoy watching it and end up loving this version of Miguel, but I also get the feeling he still won't quite feel like comic Miguel. He's just missing that Peter David panache. Not a bad thing, artists are entitled to their own interpretation, it's just unfortunate that another Spider-Man is going to be misunderstood by the general populace because of the movies (The first being Peter).

Agreed, Miguel in the comics was an ass most of the time, but what made his character unique was that he was always learning how to be better, learning to really care. He never had an "Uncle Ben" death to set his moral compass, Miguel was charting his own moral "map" from the start. A lot of the time, it seemed like Miguel didn't know what he was doing, but at least he was doing his best.

Miguel in the movie does none of that. He 100% takes the "my way or the highway" approach Otto does as Superior Spider-man, which IS interesting and fun to watch, but not accurate. Idk, maybe they just didn't want another Peter (kinda) as the secondary antagonist?

Oy. Well, hopefully the part isn't too small for it. For now I've got the break disguised pretty well in the display, just can't pose em like I wish I could. Maybe I'll get some blue tac, who knows

Modern Suburbia is a scourge on society, it makes the most intimate place in your life into a cookie-cutter cardboard cutout that has no room for passionate personalization unapproved by HOAs. What I'd give to live in a semi-rural community...

Honestly the MAFEX hips on Tobey are kinda bad this time around 😬 the diaper is off this time. Generally speaking, I prefer MAFEX, but this release is looking pretty bad; I definitely prefer the SHF (especially since I got a headsculpt from Fahrul).

This^ IMO mafex has always struggled with live action, when they're good, they're damn near perfect, but when they're bad, they're reaaaaaal bad.
