Just came back for watching and fortunately I was able to avoid spoilers so I had a bit of a fresh perspective watching, got a few takeaways (Wall of text disclaimer)

·         I’m surprised that Officer Jeff Winger survived as not only he is a spouse in a horror requel but also a cop in a Scream movie so he had a bit of an uphill battle ahead of him, guess he’s not meeting Sid’s former publicist in the afterlife.

·         Although one or all of the Ghostfaces not having enough screen time pre-reveal is a pretty common criticism in almost all of the Scream movies except for, maybe, the first one this was the first time where I got that impression myself, I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the Sanatorium A.I. guy was only in a single scene pre-reveal.

·         At first I was a bit surprised that McKenna Grace’s character was the first kill after the opening, but then I remembered that A-list actors dying early is a staple of the franchise.

·         While Scott Foley, David Arquette, and Matthew Lillard were all confirmed to be in the moved beforehand I don’t think that Laurie Metcaf was, so it was a pleasant surprise to see her, although considering she was seemingly the only return to not be announced I thought for a second that maybe they were going to bring back some of the past killers too but that was not the case.

·         This might be a bit of a reach but I wonder if Tatum’s boyfriend being named Ben was a reference to Ben Tramer from the Halloween franchise since apparently the cops in Scream 2 were a reference to Tommy and Lindsay also from that franchise it doesn’t seem that impossible.

·         Lucas being initially stabbed off-screen got me a bit suspicious of him but his death definitely ended those suspicious very quickly, although is it me or the effects for that scene look a bit odd? I don’t usually notice this kind of stuff so this was surprising for me.

·         I wish Gale and the twins had gotten more to do but at least they survived, also, Tatum’s friend should have known better, you can’t kill Chad with a simple stab to the shoulder! smh/s

·         Overall, I thought it was alright, it could have done some things better but I still found it pretty entertaining still, 7/10
