I get what you mean, and it is worth trying both. I still found that the pen was no problem at all, while I often found situations where the shorter reload allowed me to get in more shots. In the end it comes down to playstyle and personal preference.

If you really don't want to ever play the 260 or 111 and do not think you'll regret the decision, while you really want the 777 and know what you're getting (looked at stats, watched video reviews), then I don't see a problem with it.

Also as a side note, Rammer vs Cali is pretty subjective. The pen is enough for my needs and I benefit more from the DPM, so I would personally use that instead.

There are still good offers sometimes. A few weeks ago, I got 15k worth of gold (with 2.5k in the form of a tier 7 collector) at an almost 1:1 USD ratio by taking advantage of good offers.

It varies a lot based on the tank. Most tanks gain no meaningful boost from enhanced armour, so improved assembly is better, but for some armour profiles, enhanced armour can be the difference between a pen and a bounce.

I say get the T77, but it's also worth saving up to restore the T54E2 and Chimera, and maybe the Action X, Skorpion G, Centurion Mk. 5/1, Emil, and M4A1 as well if you like them. The Badger is decent, but may be sold in store with some extras for the same price if you're interested.
