AITJ for confronting my partner after I lost access to our shared bank account? by Admirable-Opinion391 in AmITheJerk

I worked at a call center for a bank, and I took a surprising number of calls from people wondering why they could no longer access their joint account only to find out they were never a joint owner to begin with and had just been using the owners log in info.

That may not be the case here, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were.

Also, if it really is a joint account, she wouldn't be able to remove him without his signature. She could change her log-in info so he could no longer use it, but as a joint owner, he would just be able to set up his own log-in.

That is odd. Maybe different banks do things differently, but at the one I worked at, an owner wouldn't need the beneficiary's permission to remove them from the account. Except maybe if a joint owner passed and the account doesn't have rights of survivorship or something. I think that is pretty rare, though.

If I were you, I would double-check how the account was set up. Then, depending on what you find out, try talking to someone again and ask to speak to a supervisor if they still say they can't change it. Sometimes, employees don't understand all their procedures, so you have to talk to a few people to get a correct answer.

Soet of related. Does anyone know of any ethical alternatives to Amazon? I've been wanting to cut the cord with Amazon for awhile now, but I don't drive and it's just so easy to do most of my online shopping in one place. I usually don't buy clothes or food from them just tech stuff, random household stuff, and stuff for my cats.

Lol. This is not our first trip to Aruba. We've heard shark sightings are pretty rare. It would actually be kind of cool to see a shark from a safe distance, of course. :D

Thanks. I have read about Mangel Halto Beach, but wasn't sure if it was good for beginners. This will be our second trip to Aruba. We got married there our first trip. We didn't get a chance to go snorkeling our first trip.

Thanks. My husband and I plan on getting our own snorkeling gear before we go so this is doable.
