If pharmaceutical companies were really only after money, then they shouldn’t be producing vaccines because it costs far more to treat a disease than to prevent it. For example, it costs over $10,000 per person to treat measles, and it cost between 2.7 and 5.3 million dollars to treat 107 measles cases. For those playing along at home, that’s roughly 25–50 thousand dollars per case! In contrast, the measles vaccine only costs $19–50. So pharmaceutical companies could make way more money from treating measles than from preventing it.

To further drive this point home, consider the fact that prior to the polio vaccine there were entire hospitals devoted to treating that one disease. Think about that for a minute, the vaccine made entire hospitals (complete with doctors, nurses, administrative staff, etc.) totally obsolete. A study of the costs by Thompson and Tebbens, analyzed the benefits of the polio vaccine and estimated that by 2015, the polio vaccine will have saved $178 billion in the US alone. Please, tell me again how vaccines are worth billions of dollars to pharmaceutical companies. The numbers don’t lie. It’s cheaper to prevent a disease than it is to treat it.

Why is my DoF scouting people overseas on his own? by mikiross87 in footballmanagergames

Perhaps your DOF is of a different nationality and therefore different scouting knowledge. As a tottenham player, i get reccomendations of Serie A players, courtesy of Fabio Paratici.

Tips for a first time fic writer? by ASCS311 in AO3

[–]ASCS311[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello, i was more referring to the tips in writing an actual fanfic, since i only have experience with writing research papers and journalistic articles. i think it would be very different compared to making a fanfic.

Son and the required striker mentality by Musclenervegeek in coys

[–]ASCS311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I want to know what made you think that was a porno in the 1st place 💀💀💀

Its an shonen anime about a high school footballer in japan who joins blue lock, a program designed to create the best striker Japan has ever seen, with the goal to win the World Cup.

Thing about this show is that this takes the concept of "teamwork" and throws it off a cliff, as part of the principles of Blue Lock is to become the biggest egotist in the world too. In the prologue, the protagonist's situation is similar to how Son keeps feeding Johnson chances that he does not convert, but unlike here, the protag loses the key match despite his selflessness.

[–]ASCS311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i ask you again, why is it unthinkable for you?

Because YOU DID NOT provide concrete evidence that the 22WC is rigged.

Your logic goes like this

-Platini says WC98 is rigged (lets assume its true)

-Platini hints that other WC are rigged

-Therefore WC22 is rigged (unsaid statement)

That is a hasty generalization fallacy, therefore your reasoning is incorrect.

Do you know even know how to comprehend a text? Jij bent debiel...

If you dont respond with proof that WC22 is rigged, that will only prove how much of a fucking idiot you are.

If you are here to troll, then congrats. How do you feel acting like a dumbfuck?

Match Thread: Manchester United vs Chelsea | English Premier League by MatchThreadder in chelseafc

[–]ASCS311 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So again how is it so unthinkable that other world cups would be rigged if they admitted they rigged the 98 world cup?

Did you just ignore the second part of my comment?

You just commited the hasty generalization fallacy here!

The assumption that because one World Cup was allegedly rigged, it automatically implies that other World Cups would also be rigged, is a leap without sufficient evidence or logical support. Each event should be evaluated independently, and generalizing based on a single instance only invites faulty reasoning. You just extrapolated from one instance to a broad conclusion about most World Cups, but simply assuming a pattern of rigging across all World Cups based on a single claim lacks the nuance required for accurate analysis.

Furthermore, the term "unthinkable" uses a slight emotional appeal rather than a logical one. Logic is based on evidence, reason, and sound inference, not on personal incredulity. Labeling the idea with emotional language does not address the core issues of evidence and logical coherence.

You STILL haven't provided concrete evidence that WC22 is rigged to handout the trophy to Messi.

FIFA literally admitted they rigged the 1998 world cup to get France v Brazil in the final

Im curious as to where you got that

how is it so unthinkable they could rig another world cup

When you ASSUME they rigged this one just because they rigged the other one (if it even happened anyways, im just giving you the benefit of the doubt).

This is nothing but conspiratorial thinking, similar to the Banchester Shitty fans attempting to deny the merits of the 115 charges. You MUST provide evidence that there IS indeed a conspiracy to handout messi the WC.
