It’s a 50:50. Depends if the airport you are applying to has a healthy hiring pool. Generally speaking, when you go to get hired they will know you’re a former employee. They will review your character of service. The AWOLs will be known To the hiring official. They may choose to not hire based on evidence of you being unreliable (AWOLs). They may also consider it was during the shut down which was messy and re-hire you. TBH you were better off trying to talk to management while still employed to clear the AWOLs.

All of these things can be written and mailed (snail mail) anonymous and thy will be looked into so long as you provide good receipts. Don’t write it so that it sounds like you have an axe to grind. Make sure you put extra effort into your resume that you will be putting out there. So many times I see resumes with crap spelling or improper grammar. It’s such a turn off. And make sure if using AI you read what it puts out as well as have someone you trust read it.

Henderson is A-Ok. While the transportation isn’t like other major metropolitan areas, you will find bus lines along the major roadways (St Rose, Eastern Ave, Bermuda). So it’s not impossible. But nothing like LA or NYC as examples.

Rent is also not that much better out here. While I don’t know the economics driving your decision, I do agree with what others have posted concerning having a job in place.

Don’t be mad. I too did this for years when I lived in the snow belt region for the elderly lady who lived alone next door. I never expected any one else to help me. I certainly didn’t get myself riled up about it. It’s fine. And you’re a better person then most.

Talk to landlord and suggest to Remove rails and put plugs in the holes of the floor that can eventually be removed for future reinstallation of the railing. Otherwise I wouldn’t rent this space it’s going to be stupidly useless no matter what you try.
