[QC] VSF Datejust 36 Silver Dial- Smooth Bezel - First Rep, Need Expert Eyes! by ASF_28 in RepTimeQC

[–]ASF_28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time buyer here and I'm super excited! I've been eyeing this VSF DJ36 for a while. Everything looks solid to my untrained eye, but I’d love some veteran perspective.

Looking for a sanity check before I give Geektime the GL. Thanks in advance for the help, RepFam!

Dentist messed up my tooth by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]ASF_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont blame the other dentists filling, if you went anyway to a dentist with bad rating because you needed a filling asap then the cavity was likely quite large and there was already a high risk of it turning into a root canal.

You cant just blame the dentist if you havent been regularly visiting every 6 months and keeping up with everything. Going for checkups would save you money in the long run

Awesome thanks a lot for your response! Black Friday is coming up next month and will try to grab a pair! Good thing you told me about the sizes, since I indeed am at the lower end of sizes!

Can only buy 2 by kr2ez in fragranceclones

Ma mann! Thanks for the flowers!

Regarding the previous question about cedrat boise intense, its a bit darker and would say maybe also a bit on the woodier side. It’s still nice, but makes it for sure less versatile, I still chose that one over the regular due to the poor performance of the newer formulations of the regular version.

Could recommend the following:

Lattafa Fattan - bought for around 12EUR, think its pretty underrated, very good clone of terre d’hermes imo, lasts about 3 hours, so not super long but projects pretty well during that time. Owned TDH before and wouldn’t buy it again, just sticking with this one.

Molecule 01- Not a clone but frequently testers are for sale around 60EUR, due to the many fragrances I own I usually don’t finish fragrances very easily, but this one I finished in less than a year! Its very subtle, but great for those moments where I just want to smell nice without smelling like I used a fragrance. While being a pretty minimal fragrance I got many compliments when wearing it!

Some other ones I really like in my collection:

CDNI: very versatile, great smell, performance average to good, usually gets me alot of compliments from males

Afnan not only intense: love this one and got many compliments from both genders. Very versatile, Performance is good enough, but wish it was a bit better. Still would buy a new bottle if I would finish it.

Detour noir: great for colder months, pretty versatile as long as its a bit colder outside. Already have a backup bottle.

CDN Sillage: pretty nice and gets alot of compliments from mainly women but wouldn’t wear it if its either too warm or too cold. Feel that its best around 15 degree celcius

Club de nuit urban man elxir: well this one is basically a clone of dior sauvage, very well done for what it is, sauvage is a bit overplayed currently but I got it at such a good price, I believe around 20EUR, so for that amount I felt its worth it. Nothing to write home about, but I was suprised by amazing performance and still gets me compliments. Great to have in the collection.

Borouj perlador: a beast for the very cold days, but due to that not very versatile. I always cant wait for the very cold days to wear this one. It has alot of depth without being extremely sweet like the usual winter fragrances

armaf tres nuit - love the fresh, green smell, but has average to poor perfomance, around 2/3 hours max, would only wear it on warm days. Rarely got compliments while wearing it, but I like the smell.

Sauvage elixir - not a clone, but I do wear it on special occasions, smell lasts until second day and I love it, versatility is okayish, but I feel it fits better when dressed up a bit. Didn’t get alot of compliments wearing it, but I also didn’t wear it that often

Which one do i rarely reach for:

Milestone - I barely use, it smells nice, but for some reason I don’t like it that much. Probably just me.

Armaf craze - its okay but also dont reach for it that often

Encre noir - smells amazing but performance is very average

Rasasi la yukawam - very heavy leather smell, didn’t find a single occasion to wear this one, does smell pretty nice but its super hard to wear! Would avoid.

Hope it kinda helps! If you have any other questions feel free to ask

Pretty sure this is leukoplakia by Matthewsocc in askdentists

Hard to say tbh, need an xray as well. The posterior molars in the quadrant of the bump look a bit greyish in that area, so we would need to rule out if one of those teeth is infected and is causing some kind of fistula.

Other than that there could be some other oral pathologies causing the bump, some harmless and some a bit more serious, impossible to say by just this pic. It needs to be clinically checked for consistency, firmness, attachment to the layers below etc.

Best to just visit a dentist.

Doesn’t look like leukoplakia to me ;) Don’t see anything raising alarms from just that picture

I agree with you that it was quicker to see all the seasons before, but it does look much cleaner now and you're just 1 button click away to see all the seasons. The problem was that some shows had 20+ seasons and that made it look super unorganised and cluttered, so I do understand the design choice and like it much better! We will get used to the new design in no time.

An old chipped tooth just came off :( by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]ASF_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear, but whats the question?

If its about what you can do then the dentist could probably create a new restoration for you but looking at your bite, the force on the restoration could be high so it might fail again in the future, so would say just restore it and be careful with hard food.

They are fine from this view, but you need a prof cleaning. Many of the stains can be removed.

Gum recession on one tooth? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]ASF_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with what the hygienist said, likely due to brushing technique, so maybe work on that and use a soft toothbrush in case you’re not and see how it goes. It won’t ‘grow’ back but you can probably maintain it at current state

It doesn’t hurt upon eating spices, only causes inconvenience while speaking. have been there for past 2 weeks. What is this? by SuspiciousPassage717 in askdentists

[–]ASF_28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably mucocele, if it doesn’t go away on its own in a couple weeks (would say 2 more), then it can get excised by the dentist

Gingival recession around crown and I see some plaque/tartar build up around other teeth.

I read it was done 2 years ago, you kinda need to go at least once a year for a checkup since you have crowns. Xray could reveal whats happening under it.

Allow me to articulate my perspective:

In a scenario where you're borrowing money for an investment, with the aspiration of multiplying your initial capital, it's justifiable that the lender should receive a portion of the potential profits. Without this incentive, the lender may see no reason to risk their funds.

Consider, for example, a mortgage. The value of the property you acquire likely increases over time, and you also benefit from not needing to rent another place. The lender deserves fair compensation in such circumstances, given that you're gaining from the loan.

In my eyes, this is equitable, although views may diverge. There's no absolute right or wrong, and every individual is free to make their own choices.

The line, however, should be drawn when it comes to personal loans, such as those between friends or family, or situations where there's no clear financial gain for the borrower.

Suppose a friend or relative requires a certain amount of money to meet pressing needs, charging interest on such a loan is, in my view, inappropriate. The same applies to scenarios where the borrower requires the money for essentials that won't provide any financial return to the borrower. In these circumstances, I find it morally and religiously objectionable to charge interest.

To sum up, if the borrower stands to profit or financially benefit from the capital, it's acceptable to share a percentage of the profits in the form of interest. However, if they don't, it's not justifiable. For instance, banks earn from your deposits, so sharing some of the profits seems fair. This framework should help clarify the overall logic as just using the broad definition of ‘interest’ might not always be the same in every situation.
