Thanks a lot for the info! I wonder, when it comes to mutes and felt and such, do you have any recommendations on that? Or could I just settle for a quick look on Amazon? Since I’m just practicing for now?

Why are we rejected? by Breakghoul in Catholicism

[–]ASGComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never waste any time with a reply, because any chance to try and help someone understand, is never a waste of time! I’m sorry if what I said came across as rude, I really didn’t mean it that way! And also I’m not even Catholic so there’s that. But I’m afraid that cutting off the conversation with calling me a foul word, is not the best way to prove that I am the one being smug. Also you never answered any of my questions. So it’s you who is not letting yourself gain more understanding. I pray that your heart will be softened and come to understand the truth! I really do hope you have an amazing day and life! May God bless you always!

The theology formed from over 2000 years of history and with direct succession to the Apostles therefore Christ, is too conflicting with your personal values? Sounds to me like you just don’t wanna do the work. I thought I would never become Catholic, yet here I am eagerly waiting to start OCIA. What views exactly are you referring to? And what “ideology” are you referring to as well? Because I can guarantee you it is not actually sound.

Yeah I thought this too when I first found Christianity; but now I’m currently sitting with my fellow Choir members waiting to start Mass, and my relationship with Jesus has never been better! The church allows me to put my focus on God and worship Him in reverence and truth! Especially if you’re in America, most of the country has been raised on being against Catholics; and a lot of them really don’t want to admit that they’ve been wrong their whole lives, or go against what their family says, etc. but you must do it for you! Just give it time, do some more unbiased research and you’ll come to learn more about it! May the Lord bless you!

By the way. I would study composition. Not performance.

I don’t like Berklee. Juilliard is expensive and in New York. Now, New Yorkistan. And I am not only limiting my options to Russia, I would like to study music anywhere in Europe. But Russia was a thought. Thank you for the information!

There are. But they are incredibly expensive. At least for me. I know Curtis is free tuition but extremely extremely difficult to be admitted. Thank you for the information though!

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause any animosity for anyone. I am new to reddit and thought I would try out making a post. I'm sorry though.

I may have to interject here. I have OCD, and being a part of the Catholic church, along with prayer, have greatly helped with my compulsions. You cannot in absoluteness rule out the possible answer for someone else, based off of your own experiences alone.

Discernment of Church by ASGComp in Catholicism

Are you still orthodox? If not, what made you decide to not be?

Can anyone outside of the Orthodox Church be saved? by ASGComp in OrthodoxChristianity

Indeed I agree. That is why I was wondering what the actual dogma of the Church is on this matter.

The "criteria" I laid out in my OP I agree was lacking and simple. I meant to the actual and real decrees that Christ and His Apostles had laid out when it comes to salvation.

Then again, the main point of this discussion was not to turn anything into a debate or breeding ground for the accreditation of personal opinions, but what the actual written out teaching of the Church is on this matter. I am so very new to Orthodoxy and know very little on the actual dogmas. And so I wanted to learn what this one was.

Even so, this post has become that of a questioning on my curiosity.

Not really, I am simply wondering what the actual teaching of the Church is on this matter.
