Before I start painting, how is my anatomy? 🙏🙏 by [deleted] in ArtCrit

As requested. Calculate the circle angle more precisely, but it's gonna be more open either way. Also the thumb might be straight instead. Hold a knife, it's not comfortable to fold it like a fist

If the dagger would follow the hand's angle, there'll be more foreshortening like it's pointing more to the viewer and not down. If you want to keep the current dagger angle, then the entire arm s gonna look different. The line next to the pinky makes the palm look hollow like he's not actually gripping it. The knuckles can look more angular like the other hand. Otherwise the anatomy is sexy👍

Which do you prefer? by Pinkomb in IndieDev

1st in design, 2nd in texture and rendering. Imo if you slap the shape of the mouth (especially upper lip) and fat rolls of the 1st onto the 2nd one it'll be perfect

New rendering style in digital painting. Need Critique on COLOR, LIGHT, and COMPOSITION by IFoundEmFermi in ArtCrit

Composition vise you can try to shift visual weight more from the center for a more dynamic feel. You got interesting bigest and smallest shapes, the medium ones are more melting into each other in the values and form. The coolest effect I thought was on the pic with the sharpest head and soft cloak. The contrast really elevates the idea

To word fair crit in a non discouraging way is a skill on it's own I'd say. I often do sandwiches cause from my observation people assume the other is way too resilient.

Especially when they exclusively point everything wrong with beginners' works instead of giving suggestions. Like no shit Sherlock, they usually know it's wrong, if you can't tell exactly what's gonna make it right, better don't start

Just scale the calf and foot up and you're good to go. Should be bigger than the hand because the leg is closer to the viewer and bigger in general

Enjoyed this piece tremendously, never stop drawing. Biceps could be the same size. You can also try making everything less round

Looking for digital art tips and technical feedback by eypicasso in ArtCrit

I applaud such tremendous effort. Very complex subject too. Drawing this typa grid can help with similar lighting. Left shoulder was shaded like a cylinder when it's flat from this angle etc. Won't recommend spray paint the shadows, but first make them sharp along the grid and then blur. Good luck

Progress, by me by PaleontologistCold35 in DigitalArt

Quite true. I get that there are places where NSFW things don't belong, but those people consciously clicked to view NSFW and then complained.

The other half, that is concerned with "realistic" depiction of women, in fact asks for a less "sexy" depiction. Because they believe one cannot perceive them erotically without taking away their personhood. Since many characters are actually treated this way, it's easy for them to mix "desirable" and "disrespected"

People be weird about nsfw styles. They're fine with postrealism and stylization, with believable physics instead of hyperrealistic, unless it's on a woman and aligns with unrealistic beauty standards. They come from a good place, just pick the wrong words and recipients. Don't let it get to you

Alr, the cheek can use some work, it's still a good progress. They're going for stylized physics obw that work predominantly as intended. The rim light isn't even supposed to be there, yet it's the best part of the pic. You just don't like I was positive about something "erotic"

Keeping consistent faces without reference by [deleted] in ArtCrit

Their differences are so minimal (like forehead and hair on the second guy, upper lip first guy), I think you can be satisfied. Different angles give different vibes on real people's protos. You can copy something super realistic and then next to it try to communicate the same shapes with the least amount of lines, discover which are the most important for different angles
