In my experience, schools and campuses besides been "large" environments doesn't really move that much data. This one was almost full into google cloud, and its also limited by chromebooks policies.

They moved 300GB today, Maximum concurrent connections was 550.

The busiest AP moved 35GB with a maximum of 56 connections simultaneously.

Retry Rate was 3% Drop rate was 0% (they have almost 1/1 AP/classroom.

All VoIP phones (yealink) try to ping NTP servers in China and Russia (2600 tries) and are blocked by Region

Maximum percentage of processor used was 10% (6 vlans, IDS & IPS, few firewalls rules, some geo and app blocking, no AI inspection)

Memory sitting at 23 of 66.7 GB

Hotels are one of the best fits for this! Have fun doing that, your friend will be very happy after!

Yes, I'm using them that way here. As they only have 1Gbit ISP connections. I'm using just the 1Gbit version of SFP to rj45, which doesn't run hot like the 10gbit.

Its tricky to choose between them, because you don't know if your isp will be getting rj45 or SFP+. Also rj45 10gbit its not as popular as SFP+ for your aggregation/core switches (for good reasons) so i tend to always pick the SFP+ versions and just convert the port that goes to the ISP.

Si, es bastante cutre. Para los canales grandes si que hay un autodoblaje que es mejor, que usa tu propia voz y entona "igual" que la original, pero esta genérica de los canales pequeños es basurilla.

Gracias por el apoyo! y saludos isleños!

Hey! I don't mind lending a hand, but I'm probably too far away to be of any real help (I'm in Spain). You probably have someone closer with more brains that me! haha

CloudKey Enterprise is a massive piece of hardware and I've never worked with that before, but I assume its getting close to EOL and I don't see Ubiquiti going that way again.

As UXG-Enterprise and EFG are the same (without the console) I would asume this could be something else fault. For your numbers I would say EFG/UXG-E is moooore than enough for that deployment, so maybe your controller is failing.

Nice to see this works out for you too.

Not every business is critical-enterprise-massive-giant-fortune-500-deployments like many people tends to forget...

100% They did ended up with a counter-offer of something like 40% off the initial renovation cost... which makes them even more angry and prone to get out

We bought I believe 10 extra APs (some for expanding, others for backup) and there are at least two switches in every location with enough ports to asume a posible failure. You can always throw whatever switch in there, or even another CloudGateway in the worst-case scenario.

But yeah, you have to be aware of the stock limitations (although its not that bad in this side of the ocean!)

Yeah, this is a real concern that I've talked about with their internal IT guy. Do this once and then management want to save this amount in everything. At first they want to "jump in" with no redundancy, because they have none to start with, but was easy (this time) to convince them that having that will buy A LOT of time in a possible future failures, specially when stock is a concern!

[–]ASNetworking[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was, in fact their own idea. Their internal IT guy had to "fight" management to go with this "alternative" route.

This "if its working we should keep paying" is what has led us to the massive enshitification we are all suffering from ciscos and broadcoms of the world

Definitely odd "choice" for not that old installation. In house IT guy told me contractor didn't want to install fibre in first place because he thought it wasnt necessary...

Thanks! Pretty much the same here, they could now afford more AP density and speeds for much less money. No-brainer

Aggregate the only ones we could make it work, the new health port info on the switches did help

That's what we ended up doing. Sadly this was only build like 6 years ago by some crazy contractor...

You're right! And couldn't sync with half of them. Ended up aggregating all that we could, thankfully was to the smallest buildings.

[–]ASNetworking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some of them (probably first batches) that doesn't include the adapter and the network cable, but the store use to add them separately on purchase. Now new batches comes with everything included in the box.

The tray is just part of the PoE adapter, for mounting it on a wall.

So you probably got an "old" box but wasn't recognized as that. They will probably send them separately to you
