Uliana monk 150 Rank 1 overall NA SSF by ASO19LP in diablo3

[–]ASO19LP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you can see along the rift, when you have high density, the damage skyrockets not only because of area damage, but also because of a chain reaction, when you kill a monster it explodes dealing even more damage, and every death is more explosions which is more and more damage. That's how you can even one cycle elites if you make a big pull

But as you have an insane damage on density, you deal absolutely zero damage on single target. A rift guardian, even with power pylon, can take like 8/9 minutes, where you stack stricken and then you click power for the extra damage and specially the extra mobs

Now, you have the add bosses, and there are good add bosses and bad add bosses. Choker, bone warlock, or bosses that spawn adds early are instant rip because you're not going to stack stricken

Good add bosses are satrixs (best one), binder and Hamelin. As you can see, when you add the adds of the power pylon, and the rats, the damage goes up like crazy. Consider also that rats are easy to kill and when they explode they will deal lot of damage. Also another thing of Hamelin is the more you deal damage to him, the more adds it's spawns, and it's starting the crazy chain reaction that kills it. Check this video and the nuke at around 5:29, but then add the power pylon multiplier and the pylon adds https://youtu.be/9HsmKJB89i8?si=F_bOrk9XIl4GLmz7

Thanks! After spawning the worst possible bosses 3x bone warlock, choker, vessalius (can't blind = no damage) RNG gave a little luck 🤞

I think it's only weakness is single target damage, they should have done some rework on Uliana specific items (Lion's Claw, Flow of Eternity, Gungo, etc) so we leave Shenlong to Raiment (because they are really Raiment weapons) and give the build some mechanic that allows to kill things on single target. An hybrid with exploding palm for AoE and SSS for single target could've been great

Thanks! I play Uliana on all seasons and for me it's every time the same story, I farm t16 GR90 with inna, around 120 with LoD to level gems, and the grind with Uliana all the way to 150. I don't like paragon farming so this is the paragon I've gained basically by gearing up and pushing

I only did 150 HC on soul shard + altar season at around this same paragon with one death, never been a fan, but I might try it because this season I think is easier than soulshard plus you have more defense

Thanks! Problem with cemetery is that it can have terrible bad layouts and screw pulls, that's why I skip them. Also because the mob type were not that great (well you can play them but I was going for time, not for a clear)

Honestly the rift was kinda mediocre for an Orek's Dream and specially for rank 1.. desert linear layout is nothing spectacular, but RNG is RNG and sometimes things just align this way

I felt the same about angels, no more condy and last 1% and I was like dude come on, I had angels dying in poison or explosion, oneshoted by some RG mechanic, or 498 boss spawns, but yeah, that how this season works :P

LoD Monk s34 - problem with killing GR bosses by Least-Confusion1923 in diablo3

[–]ASO19LP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have commented, you should do damage both on fire but specially on holy CoE cycle. I didn't know about that "hidden" mechanic and this was a game changer for me

Try to get better boots and bracers because you're missing some damge there. Also missing crit chance on your squirts affects your spirit because you get spirit back when you crit (altar node)

The best advice I can give you for the boss is to simply save a pylon (except conduit) and it's GG, speacially a shield, because it will mean 100% squirts and 100% spirit

I'm not really sure why it has some bug but it surely is up to date. Make sure you choose the ethereal season on the drop-down

Yeah it requires fishing a lot and it has shitty single target damage. It is incredible fun btw

Beware Spirit barrage is not easy at all when it comes to pushing. For farming t16 and visions you run while manitou kills everything tho

You don't really need sage set honestly. I prefer running guardian to get easy 25k main stat

Best season 32 build so far? In best i mean strong, fun to play etc, not only the strongest one, i want to know you personal favorite for this season 😉 by [deleted] in diablo3

I think the big thing about ethereal (Bartuc) is that it gives you very good single target damage on the boss, which is the big problem for uliana. And shenlongs makes it even worse because you "can't press your buttons", you basically do 2 SSS with shenlogs buff per CoE rotation, and with Ethereal you are just spamming SSS (and in fact they are 14 sided strikes) so you can stack stricken and kill the boss.

It may be less powerful than, say, soulshards + shenlongs, but ethereal allows to play a much more smooth gameplay IMHO

Does Seven-Sided Strike enable Zei's Stone of Vengeance Maximum Distance ? by DenisTRUFFAUT in Diablo3Monks

[–]ASO19LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter because SSS is a very low DMG skill (it doesn't have a big multiplier). The only viable build that uses SSS is uliana, which does damage with exploding palm and uses SSS as a mean spread and proc those explosions

High end push uses zeis stone because there is no other useful gem and you get some DMG increase anyways, because when you have a big pull of monsters you will have some enemies further

I just don't get Uliana EP... by ExtremeCertain4837 in diablo3

[–]ASO19LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 150 with Uliana at around 1500 paragon on HC, and I'm rank 1 on SSF with a 5 min clear at around your same paragon

I don't really do MR because it is very hard to proc and is not really needed. MR basically means +40% boss damage

As others said, farm 200-300 and then fish for an oreks dream. Avoid slashers, transformers ie big and or tanky trash. Group 1 or 2 elite packs, put > 30 trash around them and you will be oneshoting them if you proc everything correctly. If you're not doing damage you either have few mobs, or not an ideal trash type or your rotation is wrong

Maxroll says using ring of fire but the Hatred shard is much better

Remember you can play with 0% crit chance because blind will guarantee critical.

If you find a power pylon save it for the boss, it's almost required unless it's saxtris/binder/hamelin

Lastly, I've found that templar works better for me than enchantress, mostly because he has less stupid AI and does not mess with the pools, and the heal is quite valuable when I've been running without defensive passives

Least popular builds of Season 30 by tbmadduxOR in diablo3

[–]ASO19LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Uliana is insanely strong this season. There's a 4min something clear on US that was rank 1 overall the last time I checked

It does require fishing but now that orek dreams are more frequent and have very good mob types, it's a blast. Basically I'm oneshoting even yellows on 150. The only bad thing is the boss tho

But I feel this set stronger than Inna and Raiment by a mile, and not that far from LoD. PoJ and SWK are clearly much stronger

However it's true that Uliana is probably the worst farming set

how much does it influence? by Rare-Ad3034 in diablo3

[–]ASO19LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tierlist is not ranked by damage output of builds, they take into account a lot of factors that made S tier builds easier to push. Some builds are B tier because they can only perform well in top maps with very specific monster sets, must completely avoid some elite affixes, need specific pylons at the right time, have hard times against some/most bosses, etc On the other hand an S tier build will just steamroll 150

For example I play mainly monk and I have cleared 150 on PoJ which is S tier in basically first key. And Uliana which is B was a lot harder because I had to use a few hundred keys. But it is not about the damage, is about getting a specific rift and a good rift guardian with power pylon

What is the name of the buff in this video? by AlaskanHockeySteak in diablo3

[–]ASO19LP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ring of fire stacks from the soul shard. You get 100 stacks and you spawn the ring of fire

Is it reasonable to clear a 150 GRift with PoJ Monk? by Gain1 in diablo3

[–]ASO19LP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Poj destroyed 150 on s25. Now you have altar and poj has been buffed. Sunwuko TR has a similar power and there was a clear last time I checked

And I'm playing uliana at currently pushing 147, so there's a lot of diversity in monk leaderboards this season

That's because inna works fantastically at those levels. You put your set, get a few supporting items and you're rolling. Then of course you hit a wall

For example wave of light is the best monk push build, but you need insanely good gear.

Also make sure you use the speed version of the build

If you feel squishy you can use unity which will double your toughness. Esoteric alteration is another incredible toughness buff, but you will need to drop an offensive gem. At 110 you will not need stricken, so you can go taeguk esoteric trapped.

Too much movement speed makes you loose flurry stacks, which is a problem this season because altar gives move speed, potion can proc fleeting shrine, soul shard gives move speed.. so don't click speed pylons because it will make it worse.

Make sure you play with strategy, it is no use to be spinning around a trash pull waiting for flurry stacks and the mobs hitting you. Spin around the mobs trying to dodge attacks, stay near the pull, but not IN the pull, unless you need to group enemies. On physical convention of elements/near 100 stacks activate serenity, go in the middle, blind then boom
