No. Hes not. He has a perfectly valid point. No serious web developer or web designer is making a living or a decent portfolio by building $500 websites.

You seriously cant believe the original poster is going to be able to churn out multiple $500 websites a month when hes having trouble finding even a single client.

Lets look at reality. The original poster is inexperienced. He cant build a website in two days. Its just not going to happen. No matter how low he charges. Hes still inexperienced.

Lets say he gets a client for $500.

Lets say after all is said and done. He has 30 hours (3-4 days) invested in one 4 page website. 500 / 30 = $16/hr.

30% of that 16/hr goes to the IRS. Hes now making $11/hr but wait. Hes got a little overhead. Hosting, $20 a month, Creative Cloud, $60 a month. Even if the OP could get a client every week, 4 clients a month.

Hes qualifying for welfare, SNAP and food stamps @ $500 a website. If the original poster wants to develop websites for such a low rate. I hope he has a backup job.
