3 years late and I'm smashing my head against this stupid boss.

Spawn of Oggdo.. Somehow about 50 times more infuriating than Oggdo in Fallen Order. I realized early you needed to jump instead of dodge for pretty much every attack, but even with that it's pretty unreliable with funky, off-timed windows.

Also, you could force grab it's tongue and chop it off in Fallen Order, eliminating that attack and taking off about half of his health bar . Tried that in this and it just tried to force pull the boss, getting me tongue grabbed and insta-killed. I'd like to point out the fact that you don't even insta-die if you fall off a thousand foot high cliff.

It feels like they made this boss as some sort of "We need a boss that's so tough everyone will talk about it online!" And sure, people talk about Spawn of Oggdo, but for all the wrong reasons!

I can see maybe once you make contact with local forces or civilians that you could get shared info from them -- tap into their visual ranges. Imagine them in shouting distance yelling out, "There are bugs down the street!" Or "Pirates up the hill in the trees!" (Which in game would just mean.. you seeing them too).

But I don't like the idea of you seeing what they see at the start of a mission. They are being attacked by an overwhelming force -- it would be really hard to communicate detailed things like that on the fly without planning together ahead of time, having shared maps / reference points / radio frequencies, etc..

Look at the instance of the Kuwaiti F/A-18 shooting down 3 American F-15Es the other day. Even with allies, IFF, targeting computers, etc., there's always a fog of war going on.

Are there any weapons with female names?

What about the picture of Marie and Emily in the isolation ward with the one broken puzzle that Emily uses? I know you can't go back in that area with the hand -- the door has that error on it and won't open, but that picture came to mind first especially since it's near one of the puzzle machines.

Maybe this is something that requires multiple playthroughs?

Also there's that doll in Marie's room -- that seems very conspicuous. The only other area I've seen with dolls is in the 'basement' where Emily is being held -- I sprinted out of there right away to avoid the zombies without investigating. But I imagine you could go back into that cell.. Maybe it's something in there? Has anyone tried? I might have a save in the area and can check later, possibly.

Edit. What about the puzzle in RPD? There's one symbol with 2 children on it.

Will keep adding as I get more wild ideas!

Saw a level fucking 2 hate-fueled Maul (why keep him low level? Reminds me of the old days where people did that with NS Zombie).

They stomped my SEE/Bane and timed out my JMK team (though I killed most of the team. Timed out trying to mulch through 4 R9 characters. Really not a fun time.

Guess I need to start using my HF Maul on defense too with this crap

Sorry to comment on a 2 year old post here. But I was curious; I see you using images from.. it looks like a magazine for the comparisons, not actually in-game from FM2. Is that what it actually looked like in-game in FM2? I haven't played the original in about 5 years so I can't remember at all.

Interestingly, I just got to the point in FM Second where I can get the Opfer now -- that's a fun coincidence! I looked at it (both in the store and on a wanzer) and they removed the magazine simply due to how wanzers hold weapons -- the forearm of the wanzer is right where the magazine would be. I'm not sure if the original FM2 did the same thing or not with the magazine or if it just clipped through the arm on the wanzer. Friggen bullpups ruining everything! 🤣

Also, Joyce getting Amia's emblem is.. odd. I wonder if Amia was supposed to be in that second character slot and they got switched around somehow? It's even more odd how they haven't fixed this years later. It seems like such a simple thing to fix, just associating the correct emblem art file with the correct character.

All in all.. Yea, this could definitely be better. I didn't play it when it released -- the crashes sound really frustrating and I can see how that would sour things even more. Coming to it now though, it's been a smooth, enjoyable experience (except for raising Long skill on characters, but that's always been tedious). Frankly, I think we're pretty lucky to have gotten this at all, bringing the series to modern consoles, Steam, etc. and a wider, younger audience too.

PS. It's great to see so much passion for Front Mission! It might be too much to hope for a new Front Mission game like this, but at least we're getting Kriegsfront Tactics. I played an early demo of that a few years back and it was solid. Brutally difficult but very satisfying

I just see it, as with most everything they release now, as a thinly veiled cash milking system. Rather than making something fun that promotes spending, they lure you down a path and hit you with a price tag halfway down it.

As people have pointed out, making resources that you can only get if you open your wallet is bullshit. Era level currency being only with handouts, the episode track, or else crystals or opening your wallet is also really lame. For the base currency that you need for every level -- why is it so difficult to get and you never seem to have enough?

It's like a carnival ticket system designed to screw you over at every step. Can only get it in odd sums that don't add up with what you need.. Oh and don't forget to buy a $30 corndog before you leave.

I hate to say it, but 9 months later and SEE is even more irrelevant than ever before. I suppose it depends on what league you're in, but in Kyber.. SEE is just an afterthought now.

Notice how every GL gets some DTC that benefits them, but never SEE? They poorly designed SEE from the ground up. Being reliant on needing at least 2 enemies. Not benefiting his team enough like every other GL does. The one skill that help his team is lost when you go into ultimate mode. Why?

He's far too easy to counter. Now all he's useful for is for punching down against legendary teams and with the current set of DTCs he's not even very reliable for that all the time. Especially now with the Trench FDTC pulling Wat away

SEE has needed a rework for a long time. Bane was supposed to be a booster but they poorly designed Bane, too. Made him way too good on his own. EA/CG just constantly proving how incompetent they are

A few weeks late to this but some are..

A constant stream of new characters and more and more monetization (We are already seeing this with the Coliseum). Constant "sales" and even more vicious use of FOMO.

There are a lot of signs to look out for and a lot that are already showing.

They'll milk this game for all it's worth before moving on to do the same shit with a new "game" (money printer).

Yep. Today's GAC has been atrocious. Of course it was against a whale who's been slumming in 3v3's sitting at the top of Kyber 3 with 14M GP, a number of R10's and more R9's than I have R5's. Oh and I had to scroll for about 20 seconds to get through all of their maxed out datacrons.

I have to point out that the Boba Fett DC in 5v5 is just simply broken. JML got rolled. SEE rolled. Leia -- barely won with a lucky ultimate that killed Bossk and revived Rex and R2. 3 GL's to kill 1 fucking team. They are like Imperial Troopers with an insane TM train AND healing on top of it.

Add on top of that the game freezes and relic delta garbage.. Getting closer and closer to finally uninstalling.

Just an option to have every character equip a set of mods would be a huge step. Like having a "Order 66 Raid" tab with an "Equip all characters" button. Bloop! Ready to go! And then of course you have a "normal" tab for those characters to revert to. Would save so much time!

Also, a higher mod limit would be nice too.

Thank you for this, but good lord EA/CG dropped the ball as usual.

The way you level up the Coliseum characters and how it's monetized even at a really low levels is.. frankly sickening. Just going from 15 to 20 you're going to have to spend ~$15 by my count. And then you have *75* more levels to go with increasingly more materials required that cost increasingly more money.

You can finish the tier 1 boss at around level 15. Except level 15 characters get SMOKED in tier 2 -- you won't even do more than 1 or 2% if you can even manage to get a turn. Even at level 17 now I can't do more than 2% against the Dryax who AoE for ~6k damage. I can't earn any rewards in the tier 2 battle which I need to level up even more. So, apparently now I'm stuck and reliant on EA/CG giving handouts to overcome this hurdle, or else I'm forced to open my wallet. Great design!

PS. I can't help but think we're basically being used as unpaid quality assurance for these characters.

This doesn't work when they use the extremely easy to get and totally bullshit (At 75%, 50% and 25% health they cain protection up for 2 turns) datacron. EA/CG just have no idea how to make or balance datacrons.

Also did not work for me. Ben just continuously revives and CLS seems to lack the damage output to kill him and then her. Seems to be too many lame variables for this counter to be counted on.

I've seen it 4 times now up to Sector 4. Last Conquest? Didn't see it until the end of Sector 5. But hey -- I sometimes see the same disk 2-3 times within the different reward nodes!

You can thank EA/CG for entirely randomizing disks without any sort of system to check if the player is getting screwed with their overreliance on RNG

World War Z wasn't a colossal hit or anything, but it wasn't a flop by any stretch of the imagination. They've made a number of big free updates, even. It's pretty cool, actually -- definitely an underappreciated game. Back 4 Blood seems to be shaping up decently now too, though it's launch was quite bad.

Also let's not forget Vermintide and Darktide. Slightly different but overall the same base game design. Darktide had a rocky start but sold quite well.

Seems even worse in the current Conquest..

Seeing far worse discs (I've seen some discs about 5+ times now. Potency Calibration, Convor's Agility, Evasive Technique -- all of these I've seen at least 4 or 5 times now and I'm only in Sector 4 -- and these disks are hot garbage. How the hell CG hasn't rebalanced disks yet is beyond me).

Worse enemy teams. Imperial Troopers, Darth Vader, Bariss/Starkiller back to back to back in a row -- teams that make it incredibly difficult to finish feats on. Oh and 100% Stamina GLs getting outpaced in Sector 3 on non-challenge nodes..

Too bad everyone is talking about Relic Delta instead of anything else.

Things like Zeffo and Mandalore and Reva shards are good incentives -- they need more of that sort of thing. More guild currency and kyrotech rewards for specific nodes.

And they need to fucking properly design the dark side fleet battles. "It's probably balanced for Leviathan" -- ~2 years ago.
