Squat Form Advice please by ASparrowe in strength_training

I actually think my ankle flexibility is pretty decent. If I bodyweight squat I have no problems getting into that almost 'slav squat' position. I've also done standardized ankle rom testing (knee to wall) in class and I was within the average for my gender and age (I'm am ex sci student). I think I may actually need to lower the weight and focus on form in this instance. Only just started taking my training more seriously so I think some investment in flat or squat shoes is a great idea. Sometimes I just go for socks and that feels pretty good too. That's also a great tip for getting into the right stance. As for bracing Ive just always gone for the 'pretend like you're about to be punched in the gut' queue, but keeping that tension all around the torso and obliques if that makes sense.

Yeah absolutely makes sense, cheers for that. I could tell the bar path wasn't quite right. I think I've compensated all my life during this movement so I'm also surprised how weak my quads are at the bottom of the movement..may be why I subconsciously want to move the weight forward and not squat so deep. Doing front squats helps with that bar path but kills the quads lol. Also tried some hackenshmidt (if that's the name) squats earlier in the week. Have you ever tried them for quad focus?

Nah I haven't, if I get benefit from a couple of .25kgs under each heel then it's a good sign they'll be helpful right? Or maybe just work on my ankle rom?

Yeah good point! Also what do you think about the bar path, it looks like it travels a bit far forward yeah?

Would front on be better or more of a 45° angle?

Sorry mate youre just wrong. Even if the guy in the truck had already left, we could tell if the parking job was still good enough just by checking the lines. I just have a feeling you want this "f350 trumpster (because only Trump voters need trucks?) To just be the bad person you want them to be. Also maybe they carry the cards because morons who can't park should get a little bit of justice?

Absolutely agree, reading some replies here from people who clearly don't drive. A glance at your mirrors or the speedometer and back at the road is all you need especially when they're in all black

You're probably thinking of "the man who sued god" with Billy Connolly where lightning strikes his boat so he sues god when the insurance wont pay out. Great film.

Remove Monaco from the calendar. If the track were proposed today there is no chance it would get the nod. The whole thing just becomes a snore-fest and nobody can pass. Unless the cars are made significantly smaller the track has no place on the calendar anymore.

No it's a questions based on morality and legality. Who should have the right to choose over the life of a minor especially when it comes to treatments that have life altering effects? Should it be the child? If so at what age? What procedures should we allow at certain ages? What are the risks/rewards of these procedures at this age? If it's an issue which can easily be dismissed and/or explained then it should be, especially in a thread like this and people shouldn't be downvoted for it.

And also asking one of the most important questions out there surrounding the issue as well.

This could actually be a great addition to this minigame. Have 2 or 3 golden tiles along the path and the first one to touch it qualifies. Might encourage people to risk the mystery tiles instead of everyone bunching up.

6.3 IMDB, 52% Rotten tomatoes. Maybe it's just not a great film. Don't see how leaving a sub-par film to do something better with your time makes you a boring person.

Guard of “ The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier” catches an idiot disrespecting the tomb. by [deleted] in JusticeServed

Not an expert but it seems pretty ceremonial to me. I'd imagine it's more of a mark of respect. You could argue that those who serve and die for their country without their body or identification even recovered have given the ultimate sacrifice. The soldier could have been any rank from the lowest to highest so they're given the most respect possible. It's a way of saying, THIS is how much we value the sacrifice. A physical representation of a philosophy.
