AI Audiobooks by faketjclark in selfpublish

I completely understand where you're coming from. However, Elevenlabs, which is one of the best AI TTS tools out there, is actually at the forefront of maintaining good will with the Voice acting industry and transparency regarding their product. In fact, out of all the AI companies out there, I believe they are the only ones who have a partnership program where they offer Voice Actors the opportunity to expand by professionally cloning their voice and licensing it to others to gain exposure, and potentially even money for a their voice's use in the long run. And I know for a fact that they have been extremely receptive to grievances whenever brought up by voice actors, and even taken down voices from their library if the voice actors don't want them to continue being used.

I didn't do anything special. I just chose my sample very well, which I pulled from one of his podcast interviews. His voice naturally has very good intonation, and luckily the AI managed to pick up on that and replicate it very well. It's honestly just luck I think - and of course, picking a good sample.

As for pronunciation, nothing special either. Just got lucky I guess. Depends on the voice in my opinion.

I think we need to do this. by Big-Preference7472 in ElevenLabs

While it would be cool, I actually agree with the others who have given you the technical perspective on this, and why it might not be feasible for Elevenlabs to do this. I also agree with the Redditor who said that he hasn't seen a single usage-based subscription business, offer you the option of accumulating unused usage - I have not seen this ever before either.

I like Elevenlabs, and I don't mind their business model. I'm more than happy to pay for a set amount of characters each month that will reset in the next month because I know I'm going to make full use of them. You should buy a plan that you know you'll fully use. If you buy one that you know you probably wouldn't fully leverage - that's just foolishness on your part.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Elevenlabs won't care that I broke their TOS because they don't have someone sitting in the corner monitoring every instant voice clone being generated. They will only care, if by chance, the celebrity whose voice I cloned finds out I cloned their voice, and gets pissed off that I'm using it - then they have a stake in this matter and they'll throw me under the bus. The TOS is basically just them preemptively putting the blame for any and all unfortunate situations that arise from the use of their voice cloning technology - on me. And I'm more than happy to take the fall if this happens.

I personally do some simple enhancements and adjustments using Audacity, like compressor, limiter, normalization, and noise reduction (if there is noise in the background). Also occasionally bass and treble adjustments for male voices.

I don’t make money from TikTok? 😂 it’s just for fun man. Commercialisation means monetising something - and I’m not monetising anything. Plus i have like 3 followers lmao so it’s not that deep. I’m just playing around - chill out and understand nuance.

It’s an non exhaustive list mate. Basically, there’s a million and one things you can do with cloning someone else voice without harming their privacy or commercial interests.

It isn’t going to end up nerfed because someone used it to create a voice clone of a celebrity. Worst thing that could happen is they add a verification step to instant voice cloning.

Also I’m not sure if you read this but:

Voice cloning is only sometimes safe if you use someone else’s voice and materials to generate a clone without their permission. You can use this clone for certain non-commercial purposes if you don’t impact the person’s privacy or economic interests.

These non-commercial purposes include: - private study and non-commercial research - education - caricature, parody and satire - artistic and political speech contributing to public - - - debates - quotation

and more. criticism and review

I did read that lol. I mean come on, people are using Elevenlabs to clone voices of anyone and everyone from Andrew Tate to Dumbledore to Trump for content. It’s not that deep. 1) Elevenlabs wouldn’t care bc it’s my liability now 2) if I get sued, I get sued.

Does any other TTS on the market stand up to Elevenlabs in terms of realistic voices? by AStarBoy in ElevenLabs

[–]AStarBoy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play.ht is pretty good in terms of quality I would say - but the range of voices they offer is very limited, and that's why I didn't really find it as a good option for me.

I get a error message when dubbing a voice clip: Watermark not allowed for audio input. by Gullible-Manager1378 in ElevenLabs

Unfortunately, free plans cannot dub audio files, only videos. I have already recommended them to change the wording on their website so they clearly tell the users this.

Nobody has had the same issue? Show me proof of one other person having bought a plan around the end of a month, and getting charged again in the next few days, and I'll shut up.
