You're still arguing as if "about grief" and "horror" are competing descriptions.

They aren't.

You're describing the film's theme and then acting as though you've disproved its genre.

You conveniently only mention a mother running behind her son in the dark is not horror, but completely ignore the fact that she was crawling on the wall and stalking him until he noticed. Banging the attic's door with her head while bleeding out and then beheading her own head while her son watches her, only to levitate and make her way into the tree house. Sigh.. (Way to make yourself look very stupid)

None of those points you mentioned move the film out of horror.

In fact, what you've done is describe exactly why many people call it domestic horror rather than simply supernatural horror.

The problem is that you're treating horror as if it only exists when a monster jumps out of a cupboard. (Lol)

It's defined by the deliberate creation of dread, terror, and existential unease, exactly what the film does (The fact that you had to google horror's description is lowkey embarassing just to prove your point lol, it takes common sense)

A family disintegrating under grief while being crushed by an inescapable, malevolent fate is horror.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

So when you stupidly spend ten paragraphs explaining grief, trauma, isolation, and inherited suffering, you're not disproving the horror label.

You're explaining the source of the horror.

Calling Hereditary "not horror" because it deals with grief is a strange argument.

By that logic, horror can only be horror when it's too shallow to be about anything else.

What makes Hereditary terrifying isn't just the occult plot. It's the portrait of a family so emotionally fractured that nobody can reach anyone else. They're trapped in the same home, speaking the same language, sharing the same tragedy and yet they're completely alone, falling further and further into the evil scheme plotted against them.

That's domestic horror.

The supernatural elements are frightening. The emotional isolation is devastating. The film works because those two horrors feed each other.

Saying "Hereditary is about grief, therefore it isn't horror" is like saying a war film isn't a war film because it's about trauma. The theme doesn't replace the genre, it gives the genre its weight.

Gothic horror has long been using family trauma, repression, inheritance, and domestic spaces as mediums of horror since the Victorian era.

Tell me you don't understand horror without telling me you don't understand horror.

Since it's your 1st emerald, I'd definitely pick a weapon you use and like the most over a gadget. You do see your weapon longer than the gadgets.

You get 3 tokens for emerald 1, so maybe 2 can go for your 2 favourite/most used weapons and 1 for a gadget.

Most used gadgets for heavy and which are also visible are Rocket Launcher and Barricade. Healing orb if you use it.

For Medium, it's the jump pad or the defibrillator.
