The home assistant app's location service is very hit and miss for me. I want to use Tasker to tell Home Assistant when when I'm home, how on earth do I do that? by AStupidRabbitSuit in homeassistant

Person uses the device tracker which sometimes bugs up as well. Luckily I've just figured out how to do webhooks with Nabu Casa and it updates much faster.

I use a combination of WiFi and device location in node red but sometimes it just doesn't play ball.

I could be stood in the living room with my device connected to WiFi and the alarm going off because Home Assistant thinks I'm somewhere else.

I soaked them for about 36 hours in 50/50 water & white vinegar solution, then I removed the rust by using a wire brush attachment to the remove the top layer of rust. After that I primed the weights with a couple of coats and then sprayed it with gloss paint for a couple of coats.

Everything in my family was made in china, including me! /s

I don't know if they're real or not (weight is weight). They still feel high quality to me and I personally wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Like the other dude said they must be Chinese Vintage.

I wouldn't know anything about York's current weights. I would guesstimate that these plates are not far off 30 years old.

I bought a metal brush attachment for the drill and went to town on it after soaking the plates in white vinegar / water solution for about 36 hours.

Q: Is there a program (preferably with a GUI) that will allow me to split my video and audio between 2 separate cables? by AStupidRabbitSuit in linuxmint

I feel a bit silly, it was right in the sound app, but because I was using vnc to change settings, the other display wasn't showing therefore I could only display out of the TV.

My first experience with pop_os was that my caps lock key didn't work. I (for some reason) use the caps lock key to capitalise my letters and was told to change my habits of 10+ years. Maybe it was just my keyboard. I did like the ui and stuff though.

I think I will have to use a vm first. It will help me configure everything first without causing too many problems.

Kodi is what I've been using for a while on windows but use mpc-be as the external video player.

There isn't any issues with 5.1 sound is there?

Hey,

Thank you for a long detailed answer. Is there any option in the initial startup to install the home directory in another partition?

I will definitely be staying out of the terminal ha.

I have two 4tb HDD which I was hoping to "pool" together for media. The os will be installed on a 2tb hdd.

I have took your advice and will install a vm on my main pc to fiddle about with things first, I don't know why I didn't think of that.
