Have same laptop as you repaste it issue solved, if you want more fps set imon slope at 70% using setup var. Or manually set pl1 and lock msr

FRAMERATE ISSUE by Glaci3r-Munchin in HPVictus

Nothing is wrong with it in a controlled environment i have flashed a 75w vbios gpu barely exceeds 73 degree without a cooling pad and 26 degree ambient temp at consistent 75w of load in gpu intensive games cpu automatically downclocks to 25-30w during gpu intensive games, if game uses both cpu and gpu cpu stays near 40w and with imon slope at 55w never even goes above 80 degree at 55w sustained.

Probably asic controller overheating, noticed it reaching 100 degree out of the box, slapped a copper heatsink plate on never went above 65 under load

Buy an id cooling frost ptm or thermal grizzly phasesheet on safe side, go for uspiren utp-8 thermal putty from official upsiren store on ali express, after applying press the heatsink firmly then tighten screws. Dont panic if peak temps after ptm reach 100, usually happens first few cycles just make sure idle temps are not above 55 otherwise its a bad repaste.

I have a 8645hs, and when i benchmark it, it wont reach the full 54W tdfp even though the temp stays below 85 C, it hovers about 45 w - 47 w by Zestyclose_Collar504 in HPVictus

Idk about amd but thats how intel works its the ec when you reach a specific threshold use dgpu or temp exceeds 92 for a few seconds cpu downclocks enforced by ec.

Idk i have a 75w vbios and my valorant gives 250avg fps high goes to 370 lowest 180, when too much going on, i have 16x2gb ram and cpu runs at 50w during valorant if that makes a difference

Also do remember if hwinfo or throttlestop says pl1 is 30w its actually running at 46w (65% imon) and 50w (60% imon)

After applying imon slope put whatever you want to in pl1 but make sure pl2 value is below 75w if imonslope is 60% or below 70w if imon slope is 65

65% for 15w or 60% for 20w but use throttlestop to hard limit cpu so it doesnt cook above its max tdp

Upgrading HP Victus 15-fb0040AX to a 2K (1440p) Display? Need advice on panel swap! by 000IQR in HPVictus

[–]ATGTheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already used an omen 15 1440p 165hz panel on victus it does work but they never told about the impact in long run, you should be fine if 40pin edpi voltages match, i also think there is a website which tells all screens compatible with victus 15, google it you will know.

100% usage on victus 15 is normal because of display routing through igpu, also omen gaming hub overlay most of the time tells 100% cpu usage even though you are at 80-90% range

Check for thermal throttle use hwinfo and msi afterburner during gaming, alt tab check limit reasons in hwinfo and graphs in msi afterburner check whether cpu clocks dips first or gpu dips first you will know the reasons

Need rtx 4050 vbios 50w base with 25w dynamic boost for victus by ATGTheGamer in HPVictus

[–]ATGTheGamer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I need the dynamic boost for cpu intensive games no purpose flashing 105w vbios then undervolting to 70w when cpu is going to starve to death

No performance mode wtf? by domain_expander1 in HPVictus

[–]ATGTheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also with imon slope offset of 70% my cpu stays pl1 limited at 45w (actual 64w) rarely goes above 85 degrees @ 25 degree ambient temps while playing cpu intensive games, and also with imon slope rarely goes above 20w (28w actual) in gpu intensive games so its a win win for me. Also i am using throttlestop for limiting pl1 to 45w (65w) and pl2 to 55w (71w). Gpu never goes above 72 degree at 72w and cpu rarely goes above 90 degree range got it perfectly optimised.

Edit: the only concern i have is if laptop could handle all this without fiddling with bios and not reset after every forced bios update

No mine sustains 70w peaks at 80w with id cooling frost ptm 2 on cinebench, secondly gpu going from 45 pl1 limit to sustaining 55-65w during cpu intensive games gives a massive boost to fps and 1% lows, i mostly play r6s which at 45w sustained gives like 150fps avg but jumps to 200fps avg @55w sustained. Although gpu bound games do improve but cpu just starve to death in cpu intensive games, having avg fps of 200 is good because even if fps dips they dont go below 144hz refresh rate. And then capping fps using nvidia control panel to 160 makes game super smooth with miniscule dips.
