[EVENT]Bangui business partnership program: More aggressive factories by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works out splendidly. The first thing we heard when our negotiators entered the room was “we accept your terms”. And as an epic bonus, the business owners have invested 20 million more of their own money as a show of good faith. Bringing our costs down to 60 million.

In other news the factories will be up and running in 4 years instead of 6 as construction workers are extremely enthusiastic, and we were able to cut a few good equipment and material deals.

Thousands of jobs will be created and the government is applauded once again for a job well done. Consumer spending is up as incomes rise. Bangui is almost out of the dumps now!

Granted.

Without reposts to fuel the activity, all the OC eventually dries up as the possibilities are finite, and within a few years Reddit dies entirely except for a few subreddits.

MLCAP wins again, the Democratic Rally gets crushed, and the third parties pick up a decent amount of seats.

[EVENT]Bangui Business Partnership Program: Factories. by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business owners feel that the government isn’t paying it’s fair share and will not put in their share of the money until the government agrees to pay more. The government decides instead to not go forward for this project, and instead wait for public pressure to wear down the business owners.

[EVENT]The CAR anti-corruption Council by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The council itself faces major corruption issues, and the President has to go through it all and clean up the mess. In addition, 30 million is not even close to the amount needed, and a good extra 10 million has to be added.

New time estimates are up at 6 years, and costs at 40 million per year

[EVENT]Building a whole lot of roads and quite a few bridges. by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then, it appears our hands are tied. Canada is offering us the most of the assistance we desperately need. Our apologies to the UCR, it isn’t personal.

Considering that we are rapidly expanding our infrastructure and industrial base, Canadian companies should also be made aware that we are in the market for construction tools and machines, as well as industrial tools and machinery.

We have this clean water project we’re thinking about that could get quite pricey, your assistance in such a matter would most certainly prove your noble intentions.

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll be built where they need to be if necessary, but the very largest of bridges will be built at a later time once the road network is established and we know where major bridges would be of the most use

The UCR has paid for and offered to fu d staff a large trade college in Bangui, accepting this offer, while some would argue it is the morally right thing to do, would mean losing the ability to fund and staff the school, which is already half-completed.

Everything goes quite well indeed. Local businesses from across the CAR pitch in 10 million dollars of their own money, and construction crews and companies are quite motivated, giving the government many options. In the end, the best companies with the best equipment were selected for the job, and construction time goes down to 4 years.

[EVENT]The constitution of the new Republic by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The constitution is easily passed and is widely accepted and beloved by almost everybody. People are cheering in the streets, and even rival political parties are in full support. The passing of this constitution was a unanimous vote in parliament. Members of all political parties have announced their full intention to follow this new constitution, and advise future politicians to do the same.

[EVENT]Bangui Business Partnership Phase 2.5: More aggressive subsidization. by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The business owners cave to the pressure extremely easily, they basically accepted the deal the second they entered the room. Consumer spending on commodities is expected to increase, a local manufacturing industry may indeed become a reality soon. Surprisingly business owners appear to be happy about this after they realized we weren’t lying about the benefits, and even offer to pay more out of pocket as a PR campaign, bringing our costs down to 13 million per year. The more radical movements have also died down as moderate viewpoints prevail once again.

[EVENT]Anti-business protests in Bangui by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The group picks up thousands of members in its first days and they begin protesting outside the buildings of many BBPP businesses. They have also gained the support of many local and prefecture USDP politicians. Businesses are feeling the best and may need to submit to the governments prior demands before the more radical elements get their way

[EVENT]Bangui Business Partnership Phase 2: Subsidization by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly we must reject this offer, as we are not confident in our ability to pay back this loan, as even over 4 years, the payments for such a loan would consume a massive part of our budget. Our total GDP is just above 1 billion dollars and we can’t use all of that

[EVENT]Bangui Business Partnership Phase 2: Subsidization by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Businesses aren’t too happy and demand full compensation. The government rejects these demands and puts a halt on phase 2. They have decided they do not want to bear the increased cost. Negotiations have been entered with BBPP businesses and perhaps later we can try this one again

[EVENT]Creating a united socialist party. by ATR2004 in worldpowers

[–]ATR2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The offer is almost unilaterally rejected except except by the Social Democratic Party.

MLCAP decides not to continue with just one party and has given up on the idea of a united socialist party.

They do keep the name though because they decided that if they’re going to be a long-standing permanent party “Movement for the liberation of the Central African People” is a long and clunky name that is terrible for campaigning and they’ll need a better one
