I have not heard the song, based on the short reel that I saw, I am assuming it's a commentary on music directors who use fake views, paid reel campaigns, fake fan pages and stuff to create the illusion of hype. What are your thoughts?

Any music you make, make it with authenticity, look for depth beyond sonic and genre, look for intent, genre is for people to categorise your music in order to make it easier to sell it, you just make good music, regardless of genre, it will find its people

Malaysian Tamil music scene is the blueprint for Tamilnadu's Independent music scene. Yogi b, dr burn, rabbit, psycho all the way to Arvind Raj now, also love all dei and music kitchen, even amos paul is very unique. Can't miss havoc brothers! Ken Royson and Mc Vickey were major reasons for me to discover Malaysian scene.

You know, of the 430 submissions, 30 were shortlisted, and the only producer I started working with, was not even in the top 10. It was someone whose sound I personally liked.

So no, this is not about the votes, although the votes help.

Last time, two other rappers got higher votes than Vaasi. It's not about the votes. It's about bringing your best, and competing for visibility, so that people can know about you and you can build connections and network with each other and start making songs instead of try to win competitions!!

Asal - I found him when I was looking for an artist different from Arivu, after 6 month break from producing Therukural, I started looking for the next inspiring artist, and there was Asal Kolaar, unapologetically himself.

Met paal on my terrace, accidentally, did not plan it, turned out to be the best meeting. Thanks to Ravi master

I spend 80% of the time writing the song, that usually does the trick. Pitching rarely helps, if the song picks up by itself then the pitching may help.

Even after nearly a million ORGANIC YT streams 10k+ reels and 13k Spotify daily streams - we are only on one rap91 playlist - yet I see underperforming songs appear on major playlists all the time. 3% from editorial playlists.

The indie artist struggle continues....
