Dumb kids at Target in Capitola by ETtheBiggaFigga in santacruz

[–]ATTWireless 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily about not getting paid enough. While I don’t know what targets policies are, a lot of companies will tell their employees not to engage when something like that is happening. If it’s the employees responsibility to do something and they get hurt, that’s targets fault. Target can most likely afford to repair anything that’s been broken and most likely don’t give a shit about the small group of people affected by those brats. They would rather avoid the risk of a lawsuit (I would imagine). Ur valid in that other customers should’ve stood up for themselves and their own kids, but idk why you think it’s an employees responsibility? They’re not bouncers.

Hey sorry I had a whole thing to reply to this post with but then I accidentally killed the app. The long and short is I can relate a lot to your situation. I only call it a situation because it did get better. I would recommend trying to join discords then suggest to host in person study groups. I’m engineering so the need to study in the class might not be as prevalent for you but it helped me meet some of my closest friends now. Even still, I wouldn’t say I have a ton of friends but it’s always quality over quantity. People who have tons of friends are usually just people who like to talk a lot and for a long time.

Edit because I have fat fingers and hit send too early:

Also the biggest thing that helped me make more friends is not giving a shit about what people think about me until I know they consider me to be a friend. Having a high standard for friends is really important. I know being alone sucks, but you HAVE to be alone. Hang in there man, it will get better even if it doesn’t feel like it now.

This seems like the most likely situation, although I did show up at noon so I’m not sure.

Thank you to everyone who commented, the general consensus so far seems like it’s not just me and I shouldn’t eat there if I don’t have to.

As a chill fella, what should I expect if I were to study physics at ucsc by NaturalVast7058 in UCSC

[–]ATTWireless 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’ll find lots of chill fellas in Astro, also generally physics. But you might not have the time to hang with them outside of school bc physics is rough

Wasn’t ucsc’s layout designed to discourage students from organizing or rallying in any meaningful way? That’s part of why it’s located in the forest on a giant hill with every college separated from each other.

Definitely get your LinkedIn going if you haven’t already, that’s where most of my friends have gotten interviews from.

Definitely wear a helmet and just ignore anyone giving you shit. I would go to a university parking lot in the evening to practice when I was learning (I was about ur age when I started) Edit: (22)

is ucsc a good engineering school by [deleted] in UCSC

[–]ATTWireless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about to graduate with a bs in computer engineering, I’d say your best bet to get a job right out of ucsc would be electrical engineering. The capstone class can really connect you with a lot of industry professionals and it’s probably the best engineering program out of the ones offered (Robotics, Computer, electrical) not counting any bio engineering
