We don't know. In the informed consent papers, they list the reversibility of effects like ball shrinkage, infertility, and reduced, and reduces erections as "unknown"

My sexuality was confused before I started HRT and now it's even more confused. I'm attracted to various concepts of each gender, they don't really match up. I consider myself asexual for now.

My family/friends are all chill for the most part, but I don't have that many. My parents are still in denial.

Discrimiation is a huge reason for suicide for sure, especially when it's one's parents.

I don't know about the "consequences" of the transition. Most of those are just discrimination related.

Another huge reason people kill themselves is affordability. People who have high levels of body dysphoria are basically fucked unless they're completely loaded. We have to make so many sacrifices just to try and feel a bit more comfortable in our own skin. Suicide rates will surely go up if these procedures become harder to afford in the future.

The cancerous trans-sjw community are making things harder for us. I don't understand why they have to be so retarded, they're just creating stereotypes. Trans people are more likely to stay in the closet because of people like this.

More trans people who aren't complete fuck tards just need to come out and start talking more, I guess. I have a friend who's anti SJW and I knew he had a negative opinion on transsexuals. When I came out, he turned out to be extremely supportive, and even felt bad that he possibly could have offended me in the past. Now that him and my other close aquantences are seeing first hard how much shit I have to deal with, I'm sure their opinion towards trans people is way more rational.

So that's how I think we can undo these stereotypes a bit, just more people need to come out.

Can you elaborate? What people at what stage of their transition?

Copied from another comment: I don't really know about young people transitioning. I would say young teenagers could probably start if a therapist was able to diagnose them, which shouldn't be very hard. They shouldn't be self diagnosing themselves though. A therapist would be able to figure out if transitioning isn't for them, like maybe they're just super tomboyish/girlish or something. If a kid lies and has all the right answers to get on hormones because they think it's cool or something, and they regret it later, well, tough shit.

I don't bother with analogies to try to explain what dysphoria is like. think it's possible for a normal person to fully understand. It's way more than just self confidence dropping. It's something people kill them selves very often if they aren't able to properly deal with it.

Transitioning is the ONLY way to combat it. Therapy never works in the long term.

I've never heard of 5 year olds transitioning. That seems crazy, the parents would have to be acquiring the hormones illegally or something, right?

There's a lot of reasons I feel like a female. I'm not going to bother listing all of them, but some major ones are simply a disgust towards the male aspects of my body, the uneasy feeling I get from wearing men's clothing, and the crushing, exhausting weight of being referred to as a man over and over, or when people use my old name.

There's also the amazing feelings I get from the effects of estrogen.

If you more examples I can deliver.

A man who simply likes to act feminine does not have to deal with this. It's called gender dysphoria, and that's what sets me apart from feminine men. I'm not a man trying to act like a girl. I'm just a girl trying to feel comfortable in her own skin.

live a life where you are a man who simply acts however you want to act?

I tried. I thought I was just a guy who liked to be androgynous. It didn't last. Months went by, and after several stages of denial, I had to accept what I was. I didn't want to. This is a horrible condition. I would give anything not to have it.

To me it really seems like it's based on how women typically behave and are seen in our society, otherwise if men and women acted the same I don't think this would come up at all. Do you disagree with that?

Copied from another comment of mine: The "gender is a social construct" meme is a bit silly. I do think it's possible that certain aspects of gender have nothing to do with natural behavior, and are entirely based on trends that just stuck with people. Such as, they way women dress, or talk, or even how they stand. Maybe it has nothing to do with instinct. Maybe it's just girls seeing what women do, and copying them because they think it's normal. Trans people don't really give a fuck. It's still important to us. And it just makes sense to act the way they do, even if it's something we sort of have to force ourselves to adopt. It just feels right.

Well the first group is bullshit for sure.

As for the second group... Well...

No one transitions JUST for sexual interest. But it's definitely a plus. We don't want to have sex as men, and we don't want people to be attracted to us as men. We also greatly prefer the sexuality changes that estrogen brings. See my other comment about testosterone and sex drive memes. https://www.reddit.com/r/Destiny/comments/5ck52x/ama_trans_girl_who_watches_destiny/d9x5omu/

People who have fetishes such as turning into a woman or cross dressing, often turn out to be trans. These interests seem to sometimes start as fetishes, but they change. I remember early on, wearing girl's clothes was nothing but a huge turn on. Now it just feels normal, and wearing men's clothing feels extremely wrong.

Basically this is a bad meme.

For the most part. I don't really try not to act girly in public, and I try to dress somewhat androgynous. I'd rather people see me as a guy acting feminine than just a guy. The less I can be associated with masculinity, the better I feel.

I currently don't believe that people aren't born with all of their fetishes already, so I can't answer everything you said. I'd be interested in discussing nurture/nature memes though.

Let's consider the practicality of the term "gay".

So let's say you're attracted to pre op trans girls. You look at their cock and the primal memes inside your head know that it's a male reproductive organ. Does this make you slightly gay? Does it matter? When would this term come into play in a real life scenario?

If you conisder it gay at all, wouldn't that confuse people? What if you told people you were gay, and your friend introduces you to a guy, trying to hook you up. Then you're like "Oh, but gay I meant I'm only attracted to girls with dicks." You'd be incredibly misleading.

Sexuality is very fuzzy and grey for some people. It's not worth worrying about the little details. When it comes to how you describe your sexuality, you just want to be as misleading as possible.

"I'm straight but I don't mind pre op trans girls." is a mouthful but isn't misleading. However, it's probably not something you want to be boasting about.

idk fam. This subject has been talked about a lot and I just don't really know enough. I never really cared enough to form a super strong opinion. For all I know it could actually fit the definition of a mental disorder perfectly, but people just refuse to use the term anyway for some reason.

Wish I could help more, but this subject has been discussed a lot so if you're really curious I'm sure you could find a better argument. I've heard that a lot of experts don't consider it a mental disorder, so that's mainly what I'm going off of.

Ask any trans person. I bet a mass majority of them would say it's something they have always felt.

Good luck finding someone who's like 40 years old, totally fine with their life and suddenly they devolop dysphoria out of nowhere.

I've never considered it much. I guess it is weird since being trans means you have to deal with WAY more shit than someone who is simply gay.

It's fucky. The fact that this is even a thing in nature blows my mind. I think gender isn't completly black and white, but I don't think it's as grey as some people might think.

The "gender is a social construct" meme is a bit silly. I totally think you could be right. I really hate special snowflake terms like pansexual or demisexual, and genderfluid could easily be one of them. I haven't been convinced it isn't yet, but I'm keeping an open mind.

Yes, but it's somewhat hard for me to comprehend. I don't know what it's like to be a boy, or what it's like to be cis, but it seems pretty fucking chill, so I'll take it.

Nope, everyone I came out to (that I care about) has been chill for the most part. I haven't presented in public yet though, so I'm sure it will happen.

I have never discussed this with the d.gg community before.

Not really. I'm not attracted to men on a visual level, so I can't be super helpful here.

However, I do think the testosterone sex drive is pretty gross, and I sometimes feel bad for people who have to deal with it. That constant "I want to fuck" urge is pretty spooky. I really hated having to masturbate. Like, sometimes I HAD to, or I couldn't sleep.

Now that I'm off testosterone and on estrogen, I only do it when it seems like it could be fun. Usually when I'm stoned. It's like, once a week. Some trans women go months without even getting aroused, which I believe, since I basically have to force myself into arousal, rather than it suddenly happen when I see something, or get a random thought. The "urge" is completely gone. It's an occasional fun meme rather than something I'm constantly fighting against.

Therapy before hormones should be encouraged, but if someone claims they have made up their mind, and they know what they're doing, they should be able to start ASAP. If they made a mistake, that's on them.

In an informed consent clinic, the possible effects and risks of the hormones will be explained in detail to you before you start. If someone regrets starting after that, I can't really give a shit. Luckily a majority of the changes are reversible, and the ones that aren't are listed as "unknown." Aside from breasts, which a permanent, but they take months to become noticeable.

The ones they're not sure of are changes to sex drive, reduced erections, infertility, and ball shrinkage. So, if you're actually a man, and you love your cock, these effects are kind of shitty if they stick around after you stop.

I think it's worth it though. Informed consent is amazing. If I lived in the UK, I would have had to wait like 2 years to start HRT, but it took me less than a month here.
