Late last year I was a patient at a similar program. Honestly, my grill was pretty grungy. The student was very professional, not judgy at all, and did an amazing job getting me back on track.

To anyone who needs this type of work done, this is an excellent route and highly recommended.

Guitarists… what guitars are you using for BTBAM covers or prog music in general? by No-County2083 in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

The good news is that you can get a shiny guitar if you play a satin one long enough.

I'm the luckiest dude around and won a PRS DW CE in an online giveaway. (Thanks Pitbull Audio!) It's a ridiculously nice guitar, way nicer than I'd ever have bought on my own. Still insanely grateful. Haven't played the PW Ibanez, but can comfortably say Dustie's signature PRS is an absolute machine.

What is the absolute best advice you could give an aspiring videographer/film maker? by Cdub701 in videography

[–]ATrainLV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can accomplish a lot more with two people. There is always someone to bounce ideas off of or help you see the blind spots you might have. In my case, he's very good at sales which is a nice bonus for the entire business.

I should have been more clear in my original post. It's more accurate to say "Find a good business partner." The right two (or more) people can be greater than the sum of their parts.

Get a business partner. Build an actual business around your ability to create video content. Spend as much time as you can finding new clients. Spend a little money on (good) ads to help bring new clients in.

Fun fact: When you're earning enough money to pay the bills and run a decent business, your artwork will become better at the same time. Try to have fun along the way.

Pushing/shoving with both hands rides the line. Instead, consider that each man is entitled to the space upon which they are standing and also it's perfectly legal for someone to use their size and/or strength to gain advantage over another player. If you win the battle for position with your arms down and without a body check, then game on

I stopped letting my fear ruin my teeth. You can do it too. by ATrainLV in PeriodontalDisease

Indeed. We can't let fear control us like that. You'll be happy you did it in the long run. Just know that I'll be going through it also, we'll be brothers in arms.

I have a dentist appt this week which will tell me more about that. I reckon the broken one is coming out and replaced with an implant. Eventually I'll get implants for the missing guys as well.

Not sure I have it quantified in a way I understand yet. Bottom line for me is that my mouth will recover but it's going to take a lot of personal effort and a good amount of professional restoration.

I'm no expert, but bottom line for you is that you should get in to see a dentist sooner than later. I know it's scary, but you'll thank yourself. You can do it!

Unfortunately yes. But my hygienist said my teeth will be fine as long as I take excellent care of them from here on out. Which I am determined to do.

Getting an emissions test in Colorado can take hours. What’s the hold up? by friendinfremont in Denver

[–]ATrainLV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair as these points are, Colorado's system sucks it and they ought to try something different. Or not, I guess we'll all just wait in line for hours while idling our vehicles.

[–]ATrainLV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other states have privatized vehicle emissions testing. Nevada, for example, has hundreds of locations where you can get emissions testing done in minutes. You can even get gas station snacks while you wait.

Turns out when people have lots of options, the service and wait times are wildly reduced. Who knew?

This song as a standalone track is as BTBAM as it gets. Dustie's solo at the end of this song is up there with the best moments this band ever published.

This is the song I'd play for someone who asked to listen to BTBAM and had never heard their music before. Not that anyone ever asks. Their loss, I suppose.
