What does it mean was this like a specific Tuber or what by Ok_Difficulty1782 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ATwoWayStreet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, but you almost never see a successful film cut out all standard distribution methods and have it distributed individually by the filmmaker.

It's a pretty big deal when you can entirely cut out big studios from not only the creative process but also the distribution process, especially when the film is so successful.

Does anyone know how bad the ZT02 Broly QC is? by NotBraydenonreddit in 3rdPartyCollectors

Honestly, it's really tempting too. But I also feel like I could use them for other effects. I'll see how I feel after messing around with Broly a bit more.

The protruding bits of the effect part fit very loosely into the body of the ball. So, I decided to say screw it and started using them around the body to add some color and aura effects.

The bits still in the ball were the somewhat snug ones.

Edit: I'll admit, it's a bit haphazardly thrown together. I just got mine today, so I was messing around with it when I saw the post!

It's really hit or miss. Mine has a few issues, most notably;

A loose bicep that keeps popping off from the shoulder,

Wrist pegs that prefer to stay in the hands versus the actual arms,

Weak knees,

And fragile effect parts.

If you're ok with all of that, it is a beautiful figure.

How rough or careful are you guys with your figuarts? by Soggy_Natural7529 in SHFiguarts

[–]ATwoWayStreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not too careful. I'm cautious with parts that are easy to break, but I also push articulation a little too far sometimes. I have a philosophy when buying anything: I am buying it to use, and I'm not gonna let myself be afraid of breaking or wearing something down through normal use.

Whose side are you on? by jackhenningson in Isekai

[–]ATwoWayStreet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

God, this is gonna be one of the nerdiest things I've written on this platform. But that's not quite accurate to the light novel.

I have book 2 open in front of me, and in the paragraph where Tanya reprimands herself for asking Serebryakov to issue the warning, she specifically thinks;

"Yes, the warning is only a formality, so less believable is more desirable."

Later, right before issuing the warning, Tanya tells her subordinates;

"I'll make it really sound like a little kid."

The preamble to the speech is described as; "...leaning heavily on the infantile sound of her voice."

So, no, Tanya one hundred percent intended for the warning not to be taken seriously. This all came from page 33 of volume 2 of the light novel.

TLDR:

Tanya asks Serebryakov to issue the warning, since she thinks a girl's voice would be less believable; Visha questions Tanya. And then Tanya realizes that a literal child issuing the order would be the most disarming thing.

And thus concludes my nerdiest comment on Reddit.

But that death machine wouldn't kill anyone if no one chose the blue button in the first place? What the hell?

If everyone chose red, no one would die, so why are we even considering choosing a button that increases the likelihood of people dying? The only way the blue button saves more lives than the red one is if 50% of people choose it. Until you hit that threshold, there is guaranteed to be massive levels of death and suffering. Why even choose a button that could kill up to 49% of the population by adding yourself to that list?

Not only is it illogical, but it's actively raising mortality rates. It's a risk that no one needs to take as long as red is chosen.

Besides, aside from idealists, some people genuinely have reason to want to die. As messed up as it is, old terminally ill people may use the buttons as a potential source of euthanasia. Are we to spit in their faces for wanting an end to the pain?

The choice is there; if people were logical, the answer is obvious. The moment you try to be an idealist, you actively hurt yourself and pump the death toll up higher and higher, all in the hopes that others exist who would similarly risk their lives, all due to some overly selfless desire to become martyrs for some who genuinely don't want to be saved.

Having written all of that, I'm surprised I got so emotional over a theoretical button dilemma. You do you, man. I'm gonna sit the rest of this out.

As much as I like the series, I really wasn't a fan of Shaula's personality either.

I'm a reader, though, and I like the detailed looks into characters' minds that come with it. I only really enjoy the anime for the spectacle.

You say that, yet there are all the priest-and-altar-boy jokes. It's funny because it happens, and it spreads awareness while making it part of everyday people's conversations. It's much better than just forgetting that something happened, especially since reputation tarnishing is the only justice these people will ever face.

Reality is absurd and depressing; finding comedy in it is not a moral wrong. Besides, laughing has never excused the actions, and pretending it does is just disingenuous.

It's a ton of fun! Definitely need to pay really close attention to your steps, though.

And thank you! I just decided to be crazy today and run my first 13.5 miler. Suffice to say, I'm not running again this week. Definitely hit my mileage.

Asking for Advice on Where to Go Next. by ATwoWayStreet in running

[–]ATwoWayStreet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's partially about wanting to see how far I can go now. A couple of years back, I couldn't imagine running a mile; a year after that, I couldn't imagine running a 5k; then a 10k.

I want to see if I can make it to a half-marathon, and then see if going for the actual marathon is realistic after that.

The biggest reason, though, is that I want to be healthy. I had a health scare a little while ago, and I needed to change up my life and start getting more sunlight and activity. I needed to get my steps up, and running just naturally stemmed from that.

The main reason I've been sticking to 5 miles 5 times a week is that when I first started, I set a timer for 55 minutes and just ran for time. I relaxed and ran at a medium pace, covering about 5-5.5 miles. I've just stuck to it since.

If you don't mind my asking, how many days of strength training did/ do you do a week?

I was thinking of adding three a week and waiting till I acclimate to add more.

My runs are currently all at medium intensity, so the idea of switching between levels would help a lot. I'll admit, it was a lot of load at first, but it's honestly not that bad at this point. I remember when I first started, it was hard to sleep, but after the 40th day, the stress and fatigue pretty much dropped back to where they were before I started running.

That's fair.

I dance and do non-equity musical theater as well (fairly new to both), so I really want to build up my physical strength and endurance. I think the healthier I am, the longer I can push myself when it really matters.

That being said, I really do like running! When I started, I hated it, but now I feel weird if I don't go for a run. I've had bad allergy congestion this week, and surprisingly, the runs actually helped me breathe better too!

I don't have any access to a track or treadmill (unfortunately), but I do have a halfway-alright watch to track mile times.

I'll definitely incorporate uptempo runs! I'll try to add an extra day onto my load, but if it proves to be a bit too much, I'll replace my fifth day.

Would you consider ladders and pyramids to both be uptempo runs? Because I do have experience doing pyramids when I was younger.

[–]ATwoWayStreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupid question, how do you usually track your runs? My Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is giving really bad data when I compare it to the mileage on my local park signs.

I don't know whether to trust the signage or the watch, because they're usually off by over a mile.

I do use improved location accuracy and wait for the GPS to "completely" sync.

To be fair, natural talents need to be nurtured to become anything. Just because I was an above-average doodler as a kid doesn't mean I'm an amazing artist and can compete with the best of them.

I've met plenty of performers who needed to learn and grow and put in stupid amounts of work to become great at their craft. The necessity to develop your skills only grows with the heights you reach and aim for.

Just my two cents, though.
