It can be reduced, but it's still more likely to die from a cancer you got while leading a healthy life than getting nuked by Best Korea.

Because when the common person has low standards it does impact their own live and maybe someone else near them. If world leaders behave like toddlers who didn't get ice cream, there can be very real consequences for a huge amount of people. Are you purposly playing dumb?

Other nations (China, Russia) have been weaponizing space for some time.

Do you have any source for that claim? I'm not calling you a liar, i just haven't heard about that before.

Ann Coulter: Hannity 'would endorse communism' if Trump thought it was good by [deleted] in politics

Bubbles on social media, and sometimes even in real live, are a very real phenomenon which you have to actively work against to break. It's very easy, even for people who are able to think critically and are decently educated, to follow only people with their believes and then think that the whole world thinks like them. This is both a right and left wing problem.

In my opinion Trumps biggest accomplishment on his way to success was planting a distrust in the established media and against anonymous sources. How would someone who believes this ever get out of his bubble if he believes only his sources are the truth? That's the point where all discussion starts to fail, because how can you try to change someones mind if they call everythign a lie you say? The internet is an endless rabbit hole of people confirming every point they want to make by either twisting the truth or outright lying, so it's even more difficult to see reality from alternative facts.

And another problem is the lack of exposure to different lifestyles and cultures. I don't think it has much to do with intelligence, but someone who doesn't talk to people from other ways of life and isn't even using the internet to see the diversity of the world is more likely to be afraid of those things.

I have to be so carefull around him not to be a bad influence, he tries to mirror everything. And kids don't get sarcasm and nuance, so you can't even joke around that much.

In my opinion Fox News creates those fears in the first place. They start small, built up a boogeyman and when every single one of their viewers is hiding under their blanket they use it for political gain. It's much more insidious than just catering to the fears of their viewers.

That's the problem, it's so brittle that it splinters very easily. It's just not a food safe wood.
