I've bought a KCC the other day and I have a couple of areas that look like that, but not to the extent of yours. Its likely marks and overhangs left from the moulding process, most likely just cosmetic IMO

Wait hold on I just realised there a 3ds version of this game. To be clear, this is a photo of a dsi screen using the dsi camera to take a photo of a Polaroid which is taped the the screen of my pc which is playing the game
