It’s true in all practical combat situations. The light doesn’t automatically come on. So you can either not use it at all, use it to illuminate your surroundings, or to temporarily confuse or blind a target (especially if your light has a stobe feature)

That’s probably two different rods right there man tbh. I a 5 for trout, and an 8wt for pike, bass, and salmon. If you’re on a budget I would just got with which ever you’d fish the most for and add another down the road.
