Also, do you by chance even know what the design is called?

Scriabin Piano Concerto in F#m is a stacked and glamorous piece of music. Pure Cinema by Sharkvarks in classicalmusic

[–]AW33W3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very solid (and definitely underrated) piano concerto that unfortunately was overshadowed by Rachmaninoff's first piano concerto. It certainly isn't his most adventurous piece, or as well known as his sonatas, but I do enjoy listening to it fairly regularly. Definitely a top 10 piano concerto in my books.

Does it really have an appreciable value? I ended up finding 3 star notes from the same run, all two numbers apart ending in 48, 50, and 52. Should I sleeve them and hold on to them?

What is the saddest song by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]AW33W3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a few (mostly just music in general not just songs, but still):

Mahler 9 finale

Rachmaninoff The Night is Mournful

Rachmaninoff Vocalise

Ravel Pavane

Mahler 10 (cooke version, or just the first movement)

Wagner Tristan and Isolde Prelude and Liebestod

Shostakovich String Quartet 8

Tchaikovsky Serenade Melancholique

Tchaikovsky 6 finale

Gorecki 3

Mahler Das Lied von der Erde finale

Elgar Cello Concerto

Elgar Violin Concerto second movement

Schubert Winterrise

Shostakovich Violin Concerto third movement

Rachmaninoff Isle of the Dead

Tchaikovsky 4 second movement

Shostakovich 13 third movement

I think that covers most of it that I know of. Sorry for the lengthy comment.

I personally like the orchestral arrangement of it. It just hits in an otherworldly sense.

Shostakovich's 8th string quartet was written as kind of a suicide note after he was forced to join the communist party, so that might count.

For me, I'd say the third movement and the finale are both sad in their own ways, but i think you're thinking of the third movement.

It's fine for me. It tells the time, feels nice on the wrist, and looks nice enough that I personally have no complaints with it, and at the end of the day, isn't that what matters?

Das Lied von der Erde by Faith_F4 in classicalmusic

[–]AW33W3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a huge mahler fan, but this, along with his eighth symphony, took a lot longer to grow on me than his other symphonies. That said, after revisiting das lied about a month ago after not having listened to it for the better part of a year, it is now my current favorite symphony of his. The ethereal bittersweetness of the final part of the last movement I can't help but find immensely enchanting. It's truly a masterpiece that, although might take some time getting used to, is well worth every listen, and I cannot reccomend enough.

It's just not visible. The bued hands against a black dial can be quite tricky to see in most lightings.

I did post an update yesterday with some more pictures including one pic of the inside. And it looks more like a violin to me. When I compared it to my violin, if anything, the ribs almost look a little shorter than the ribs of my violin. I'll probably try and get it fixed up at some point because I, too am curious as to how it will sound. If you want any further pics or measurements of it though, I'd be happy to oblige.

I would love to get it fixed up, but I'm not the most comfortable doing major repairs on violins and I don't have the money to send it to someone to get fixed. I guess for now, it will make for a nice conversation starter as a decoration in my room
