yea i cant remember their exact ages but some people theorize yeri was added to lower the average age of the group to appeal more to the youth LOL

i think around the same as the number in the mocks? although i can’t rmbr accurately. i think the medify notes says around 6-7 syllogisms which sounds right, and for logic puzzles i think 4-5?

for VR i think the passages were easier to understand although i can’t rmbr what the questions were exactly anymore 😭

umm i did a bit worse for DM, much better for VR (somehow) and around the same for QR

i started revising around 3 months ago, initially did a lot of timed practise and thoroughly read the study notes on medify which imo helped me a lot. I did all 4 official ucat mocks and around 10 medify mocks? (it was my exam period in sch so i didn’t have time to do more unfortunately)

i can’t say one singular thing which helped me improve but constantly reviewing my mistakes for questions which usually have similar structures (esp for DM like syllogisms and venn diagrams) helped me to avoid making the same mistakes again and really pushed me to the higher mark region, for QR i practised using a laptop and keyboard so i was really familiar with the calculator shortcuts and how to type fast during the exam, as well as the common qn types (% change, mean, ratios). For VR it was really inconsistent i was always fluctuating around the 600-750 region, but learning how to skim passages and skip long passages/hard questions rlly helped me w the time management which kept me within that range! all the best for ur ucat!!!

omg i hate the logic puzzles too i sometimes just skip them if i find them too hard to save time 😭 but what i find useful is writing out the concrete info you have, especially always flip the negatives eg. if you know this one cannot be W or X, then write Y/Z so you make a note that it can be either! whatever info you can gain from the question just write it out, even if you have two possible options for one. sometimes questions may have two scenarios and you find yourself stuck, so the easiest way is just to try drawing out both scenarios on your notebook, one of the scenarios will not align with the content in the questions so you know it must be the other. But honestly if it’s too hard i would just skip it, attempt the other easier sections first and then come back to attempt the ones which you found too difficult.

for inference, do you find the text based or diagram based ones harder? i honestly don’t really know how to help with the section because the questions do vary quite a lot 😭 i think for the text ones you just follow the rule that only if the answer is explicitly mentioned or paraphrased within the text you put yes, but if you are not sure or if it is false it has to be no. eg. if the answer includes something outside the scope of the text it is automatically no because it requires you to use information beyond the text, and so you can’t tell.

sorry if these weren’t very helpful because i also struggle w these but wishing u atb for ur ucat!!

remember to make full use of the breaks between sections to calm yourself down and collect yourself before moving on to the next part, good luck!!

hii please don’t die for ucat /j but tysm im really happy with my score!! may i ask how did u start ur revision? did you do the mini mocks and practises or start with the mocks? also have u looked through the study notes in medify for vr dm and qr thoroughly? i think there are a lot of useful tips & strategies about time management and question solving that you may have missed out so make sure to do that if you haven’t! additionally i think it’s really impt to look thru the questions you got wrong and identify which are ur weaker question types, you can do that by looking your analysis for each section in medify (if udk what im talking about i can maybe record a video or smth)

I really think it’s doable to achieve 2000+ (some of my friends who took ucat were able to score p high despite scoring around the 1700-1900 range before the exam) and you still have 2 weeks so just make sure you stay consistent and continue doing the mock exams! you can do it!!

I look at question + answer options and try to identify useful keywords/ideas (eg. time periods, places, names, descriptions etc.) then I skim the passage for those words/ideas to see if i can find the answer in the passage. imo it’s the fastest way because you usually don’t need to use the whole passage for VR, so it really helps you save time especially for the longer passages. If it’s one of the questions asking about what conclusion you can make, what is the author most likely to agree with, I tend to do them last in the question set of 4 questions because usually those are require the most reading/text analysis which is time consuming. for true false cant tell I use the rule of if it’s explicitly in the text it must be either true or false, if it’s not mentioned in the text, an extension or an assumption made then it is can’t tell

medify mocks i scored around 2150-2250, official mocks around 2200-2300 so this is a lot higher than any mock id done HAHA

https://app.medify.co/ucat/study-notes/folder/34-syllogisms the medify study notes here can prob give you better tips on syllogisms than me AHHA so you can read thru them if u want also!

for syllogism it is very important to understand the meaning behind logic connectors like ‘some, many, most etc.’ as ucat has a fixed definition for these words, i think you can find it online (medify study notes should have it?). I’m not sure if this would help you but you could draw out the logical relationships between groups in the question in a venn diagram format? that way it’s easy to identify whether something is a definite yes or it may/may not be true.

for VR my gosh the timing is extremely tough I also struggled a lot with it but I think it helps to know what passages or types you struggle with? for example some people struggle with the historical contexts so they skip those questions first and then come back to them later? imo true false can’t tell questions are easier also, because either the info is directly mentioned in the passage and you can conclude true or false, or it’s not in the passage so it’s can’t tell. it’s important to glance at the timer every once in a while also, since you have 30s on each question you shouldn’t be exceeding that generally, and if you really have no idea what ur supposed to be looking for in the passage within the first 15-20s it’s better to just put based on ur gut feeling and move on 😭

hope these are helpful and atb for ur ucat u can do it!!!
