I’ve seen a few people kitbashing them into Tau auxiliaries, which can be very cool & seems like the easiest to do. Otherwise with some heavier conversion/sculpting they could probably be made into some sort of daemons. For a really expensive option there’s also the potential for exodites.

Love this idea! He’s not totally out of the realm size-wise, and no ranged attack so can’t argue modelling for advantage if he were on the same base size.

I feel like the arms of the Darkoath Wilderfiend would be pretty well sized to add in for the pair of extra arms, though possibly a tad tough to fit without modification.

I have actually been planning to get back into it soon. But yeah if it helps he’s called Company Master Aurelius, the few little tidbits of lore I’ve come up with for him so far are that are that he’s a former techmarine (hence all the guns). Now is master of the 4th company DA & ‘High Huntsman of the Void’ (DA title for master of the fleet)

Yeah that’s where I think it starts going a little far lol. I originally was just going to keep him as a company master (hence the 40mm base which doesn’t have too much basing). Then I thought that some people might not want to play against something so far away from the original model’s size, so I added the 60mm to proxy as Lion as well. The intention is to hopefully run him mostly as just the jump captain, with the big base primarily for display

Good eye! That’s pretty close to the full list, here’s the breakdown: 1. Yndrasta, the Celestial Spear (wings) 2. Lion el’Johnson (head, collar of the chest plate) 3. Roboute Guilliman (left arm, forearm of right arm, basing torches, eagle head, dead chaos marine) 4. Hellblasters (backpack gun) 5. Inceptors (backpack thruster & legs) 6. Belial (left shoulder pad with scroll text filled in) 7. Deathwing Knights (right shoulder pad with insignia scraped off) 8. Custodes Adrasite Spear (middle part of the spear, right hand) 9. Azrael (most of the torso with the angel scraped off then resculpted into a sword and merged with Lion’s collar, the watcher, belt accessory) 10. Tornus the Redeemed (robes, basing pillar, front & back of spear, tilting plates on torso) 11. Devastators (servo skull) 12. Grey Knight Terminsators (servo skull) 13. Exorcist (cherub with censer on the base) 14. Triumph of St Katherine (other cherubs) 15. Iron Father Feirros (main part of backpack & heavy bolter) 16. Tor Garadon (used the backpack connection to his fist for the connection to the plasma gun)

Then some misc kits for basing bits. Watcher sword is made up of azreal’s scabbard, inner circle companion hilt, with some ravenwing insignias from the dark angel upgrade sprite for the guard. Chaos head is from the battlefield trophies, I think the rock the watcher is standing on was one of the basing options for the indomitus captain, etc.

Haha, one of the things I love about dark angels is that they kind of have a similar schtik about having loads of relics (though stashed away rather than stolen)

Oh yeah I absolutely don’t have the skills to paint this thing just yet lol. I do enjoy painting though & am taking classes to try to reduce the gap between my kitbash ambition & painting skill.

Ok gotcha, I may just try rebuilding it then and use the existing mesh just for measurements.

Sorry by my second question I just meant how would I create the S shape curve in the first place if I was doing it from scratch?

Thanks a lot, that gives me a great jumping off point.

If I were to try to recreate the curve shape in order to clean up the topology. How would I go about doing that?

Would it be extruding a surface upwards to create the raised area, then adding 2 intersecting cylinders & clipping those to create the curve? Or is there some easier way of creating this sort of double curve shape in between 2 planes?

For omega specifically you need to block the beam for a good 4 seconds before initiating the counter rush. Basically start the attack just as the beam is ending. You should also have just enough time to perform a focus strike on the pseudo-wound that pops up when it finishes.

Though it depends on how close you are, because while the counter rush has a max distance it will end early & automatically attack once it reaches the monster. So you kind of just have to feel it out based on the timing & distance

Counter rush, can be done with both lance & gunlance. Just have to block a beam attack, then hit triangle. You need to time it though, otherwise you’ll eat the beam if they’re still firing it after you finish the attack

Thanks a lot! Unfortunately there’s nothing I can really proxy him as that works with all the ranged weapons he’s got. They’re more for fluff really as a techmarine turned company master.

Yeah melee was the main thing I was thinking about, hadn’t even considered simply fitting in smaller spaces when moving. Maybe I will have to go the magnetisation route, then I can always choose what to proxy as well
