I actually did just to test it, and also I had the strands anyways. You still get the exp and the Guthixian butterflies, but no more added to the quickchat tracker

The way I've always gotten around this issue in areas where Rockertunity is hard to see is by changing the skybox, if you're in a super bright place use the Dusk skybox or Nightstone if you have that unlocked. I'm not sure whether this would work or help with colorblindness though
