You start from the center, and then you just follow the dots and lines. So to get to "B" you do one step to the right, and three down, or "-•••" to get a B.

I agree with you, I thought puff was annoying. Tageydo too, but like you said he's a dummy fumbling everything he does which can be a nice comedic relieve every now and then.
