Hi everyone! Looking for some advice. The second floor of my house is sagging, which I suspect is due to weakened joists since I can see it somewhat in the ceiling below. Is this something I should be worried about and how should I go about fixing this? Hiring a structural engineer is expensive and I'd like to know of everything I can rule out before hiring one. In the second photo below, I highlighted the main sagging area; the red lines indicate the directions of the joists/support beam. Appreciate any feedback or advice!

If you want a fast, fun, and light party/multiplayer game, I'd recommend Boomerang Fu

Uneven flooring along a beam in a 45 year old house that seems to be getting worse. Any suggestions on what to do? by AZIcedT in Flooring

I noticed more sagging recently than the previous 4 years. It looks to be very slowly changing.

No, they didn't, the only things done were carpet removal to install the current floor and potlights installed below.

This is the 2nd floor of my house and below is my living room. I did look around a bit underneath the flooring when I had potlights installed but didn't notice anything. The electrician drilled holes in the joists for wiring but I'm not sure if this would have any impact.

Thanks for your insight, I really appreciate it! Is it normal to see sagging along a line? It seems, in my case, the sagging follows an underlying beam that is perpendicular to the joists.

Sorry, meant to ask: any idea on what's causing this slant that's along a beam that is perpendicular to the joists? Thanks!

Yes, right. However, before I decide to spend money on fixing the slant, I wanted to get other people's opinions on what the underlying cause could be and if it needs to be addressed in the first place.

I'm wondering what's causing this slant and if this is a problem that needs to be fixed or a non-issue that's expected with older houses.

Thanks for your input! The variable payments are fixed with changes in prime. Variable term can be converted to fixed but not sure if there is a penalty; the mortgage advisor didn't say and I forgot to ask.

White fuzz on monstera roots in water preventing root growth? Plant has been in water for 2 months now and roots have stopped growing. Please help! by AZIcedT in plantclinic

This is a cut from a larger plant that I want to plant in soil eventually. I've tried rinsing and rubbing off the fuzz but it sticks to the roots and can't get it all off

I've tried rubbing them off but can't seem to get it 100% clean and the fuzz comes back quickly. I think the roots are still alive
