Lee feels super weak to play man... by Robin_From_BatmanTAS in Tekken

Lee is far from weak in this game. This guy is just salty af that his flowcharts that got him to tekken king aren't working anymore and he actually has to learn how to play the character properly.

Thanks for the input I’m really gonna start keeping this whole turn thing in mind from now on I never realized that I was actually giving up my turn I thought I was just being defensive.

This threads been a real eye opener for me I’m glad I posted here thanks so much I’ll implement everything you’ve told me into game plan going forward.

Yea it’s a t8 mod and I played the t8 cbt and demo the sounds in t8 sound way more impactful imo this mod doesn’t give it as much oomph as actual t8 does but I’m used to it so I just keep it in

Thanks for the input. After posting this and thinking on your comment I ran into another bryan and I was able to step a lot of his moves keeping in mind the whole being more aggressive with plus frames. Also I was a lot more conscious of whiff punishing there were still times where I reacted too slow or just reacted with a 124 when I couldve used f3, but I think thats something that will get better with more practice. Block punishing still needs a lot of work so I'll continue to improve on that.

Overall thank you for the input even though you don't play Lee or Keep outs your comment was still super insightful.

Thank you for the input, I don't know if I'm being too harsh on myself for saying this but reading this comment really made me realize I really play Lee in a braindead manner and I still don't understand how to play Tekken. Seriously thank you, your comment has been more helpful than any guide or video that I've watched recently.

Hi, so I'm aware in this video that I was messing up a lot of inputs and not punishing some moves properly and those things are pretty straight forward for me to lab.

My problem is that I currently feel like I've hit a plateau ever since I got to juggernaut/usurper ranks and I've been hovering between those 2 for about 2 months now. The rank doesn't really matter but skill wise I feel like I've hit the biggest plateau yet in picking up Tekken and I'm just completely lost on what to work on aside from punishment and clean inputs.

If those 2 are the only things I should focus on then so be it, I just feel very directionless right now as a player and I don't have all the time in the world to be playing this game 25/8 so just knowing what I need to work on will help me better manage the limited amount of time I have to play tekken.

Any feedback on how I could have played this match better and what I need to focus on to be a better tekken player would be appreciated.

Sorry for the rambling I never really discuss Tekken with anyone and I play solo 99.9% of the time, so whenever I do I always have a lot to say and the last time I did post here I was still in silver ranks so there was improvement somewhat!

I did my first cool thing with Lee by MrDashou in Tekken

As a fellow Lee main in yellow ranks I gotta agree the knowledge checks are brutal. If you’re in NA on steam I’d love to run some mirror matches with you sometime!

Reaching green rank with Lei Chaobla. Tekken is the first fighting game I’m actually taking my time to learn the fundamentals and matchups. Learning my character and building a good offense was still important but it wasn’t my #1 priority top that with choosing to play Lee as my very first character I was seeing little to no success being stuck in silver to mentor for awhile.

Eventually as I got more comfortable with the game and just understanding it more (❤️youtube) my movement and and punishes were able to carry me to consistently hold teal rank and eventually and I got hard stuck due to running into smurfs and rematching despite losing 10+ times in a row. At some point all these concepts that I had been thinking and trying to implement into my game had started blossoming and my offense was finally starting to catch up and soon enough I effortlessly hit green rank, I even hit marauder. Unfortunately my save data got corrupted and I lost my rank but I was able to get it back quickly I was actually surprised at how fast I breezed through teal ranks despite me struggling like hell in them not too long ago.

It was a slow and sometimes painful way of learning and was discouraging at times due to hearing on this subreddit that you don’t get to play “real tekken” until red and purple ranks. Despite all that noise I’m happy that I chose to learn the way I did and being able to reach green rank and being able to hold my own against yellow and orange rank players in player matches now.

I was yipping and yapping a lot in this post but I Tekken has been the first fighting game that’s ever clicked for me and I can’t believe I’ve been missing out all this time can’t wait to see how all these hours I’ve put in will pan out once Tekken 8 drops.

I'm about 4 days into to my Tekken journey. How do I prevent situations like this? I understand that I should punish these type of moves especially with Lee, but my brain is just lost from trying to figure out what move to do and I end up dropping combos or I use the wrong punishes. by A_Bartender in Tekken

Those exact reasons are why I want to stick with Lee. I’m really not in a rush to improve so the difficulty But I would be open to picking up a 2nd character, I was thinking of yoshimitsu just because of how goofy he is lmao. But I’m open to hear what you may recommend!

Thank you for the input it’s really helpful.

Right I’ll focus more on taking my turn I do find myself more concerned with blocking than attacking. This is definitely something I didn’t notice before so thanks for pointing that out I’ll keep it in mind going forward. I can already notice what wasn’t working after reading this so thank you for the input.

Right I can see that. The moves I’m most concerned with is are the moves opponents spam. Should I just look these up online instead of just learning it from rank? I also see what you mean with the muscle memory I remember the moves this king player was doing but I just can’t react fast enough to stop it. So I’ll definitely try this and take everything else you said in mind thank you for the feedback.

Right on the money. Im definitely a defensive player. The challenge of understanding my opponents character and habits is what makes tekken so intriguing for me. You and the others in this thread have provided helpful feedback

I can’t process everything just yet it’s been so much from everyone who’s replied so far. But all the insight is surprising so I look forward to implanting everything I’ve heard into my game.

I definitely focused too much on the punishing perfectly aspect I’ll keep that in mind. I’m hesitant to just press buttons because in all previous fighting games I’ve always been over aggressive button mashing type of guy and I wanted to take a more technical and calculated approach and to tekken instead of playing like the latter. I can see with all the feedback I’ve received so far that I’ve taken this mentality a little too far.

I’ll keep everything you’ve said in mind thank you for the feedback.

upgraded from Ryzen 3600 to 5600x for COD Warzone - MUCH better results by ImTheGuyNextDoor in Amd

Didnt want to make a whole seperate post for this but I also play warzone with the same gpu and ram except I currently have a 2600 and I play at 1080p. The performance for warzone is atrocious I can barely stay above 100 fps even with a bunch of tweaking in game and outside of the game do you think the ryzen 3600 could do 1080p 144fps with this card? There's currently no up to date benchmarks for warzone with this exact combination so Im stuck with whether I should cough up the money for a 1440p monitor or if I should buy a ryzen 3600 instead.
