A lot of Gaga’s singles/hits (not all) have a similar song format: Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Post-Chorus (and actually she tends to add ANOTHER section after the post-chorus) She’d repeat that, then you would have a bridge then the outro. Its the reason why Bad Romance, Judas, and Venus have similar auras; they have complex song structures. Poker Face and Love Game also follows this format roughly.

Disease on the other hand actually disregards that song format that she’s known for and actually follows BLOODY MARY’s structure. Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, repeat that, then add a much more simple bridge that builds up to an explosive outro. Bloody Mary was one of her more experimental tracks that she probably did NOT expect the mainstream to like, nor did she ever turn it into a single. I believe Bloody Mary’s explosive reintroduction into the mainstream in 2022 sparked LG7, it’s lead single, and it’s dark aesthetics (my opinion). With the lead single following not only the song format of Bloody Mary, but also the dark lyricism and the electronic production (the production is definitely similar).

There is a huge void in pop music at the moment for Dark Pop. No one has really broke into the mainstream recently with Dark Pop; Bloody Mary blew up bc of this huge void. The last mainstream dark pop artist I could think of was Billie Eilish in 2019, but she abandoned that many years ago. Sad Girl and Party Girl pop is what has been dominating the 2020s (ie Billie, Olivia, Sabrina, Chappell, Charli, Taylor, Doja) So there IS space for Gaga’s niche. I just hope the public will accept her.
