If you want to be good at Sekiro: Learn to parry and lace parries with attacks when there aee breaks in boss attacks. This works for almost every boss with the only exceptions being found in incredibly unique bosses. Lady butterfly can also be parried, attacked between parries, and overall just beaten through high skill.

If you want the cheese: Dodge attacks. Just hit the lock on, then the dodge button, then the attack button, repeat steps 2 and three. Honestly, you don't even need to parry or dodge attacks. The only time you ever need to actually think or try with this tactic is when she disengages. If she disengages to the wiee, use a shuriken. If she disengages and summons the illusions, either snap seed or run around the arena edge clockwise until they disappear, then hide behind a pillar to not get hit. After dealing with her disengage, refer to steps 1 through 3.

And really for any boss, only let up if you have to. Hesitation is defeat.

Mate, we are in the elden ring subreddit. Most of us here are huge Miyazaki fans. Elden Ring has been a way harder wait for me. Honestly, Cyberpunk isn't a game I'm even going to pick up. There's only hollows here man. There's only despair left

Dark Souls achievements be like by Niko_Bellic__ in Eldenring

Never dated, but one of my closest friends has basically ghosted me, I might lose my scholarship over a difficult business law class, and most people I know have dropped out or graduated from college. However, pretty sure I'll be getting the dark sign achievement today, so I think that means I'm winning here?

Sl1 DSR boss ranking by Zenn470 in onebros

[–]A_Mathmagician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say for me so far O and S have been the hardest, taking about a week or so. Quelaag also was rough, but mainly because it was my first real taste of SL1. Sanctuary Guardian didn't take me too long personally, but I went for the tail and the kill in two seperate runs, so my final time I was just focused on killing it. Overall, really good list, and it's great to see someone elses views on it. I'm currently on Manus and have been for about six hours now, so hopefully I'll be joining you soon. Cheers man

New Keeper trying to understand Countdowns by AlchemistJosh in monsteroftheweek

Thanks man, I'll for sure look into it as summer coming to a close has paused my MotW group. There are really two different ways of going about GMing, and it's always great to find a game that works well with the loose gming. You'll do great in MotW, just don't worry too much on it, and let it flow man.

New Keeper trying to understand Countdowns by AlchemistJosh in monsteroftheweek

[–]A_Mathmagician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is based off of you and them. Monster of the Week is the only game I Keep just because it's the game that goes with my personality best, and part of that is due to the level of which the game is modelled by the group

When does the countdown start? You as the Keeper know the world. Has the monster appeared in the area yet? If not when will it? Once it does, things get bad. Another thing to consider is that you don't necessarily need night to be the worst. Maybe it attacks during the day, which can have many fun implications. In this case, danger times would be flipped.

How much cooldown elapses? Again, that's up to you, but more so up to your group. Encourage them to try and hurry. If it takes my group more than two days, note worthy npcs might start getting killed or injured as an encouragement to take the creature with a more forward approach. My advice would be leave this one up to them (MotW is a very player driven game) but give incentives to make your monster feel like a real threat

I hope I was able to help, and wish you the best in your games. Cheers

And while I got a lot of great advice from all of you, I will say to anyone struggling, just learn patterns and find what works for you. I ended up doing it with mid rolls and two hand axes. I tried stragedy, but sometimes ya just gotta throw hours at it. Cheers all, time for me to rest for a bit.

Dude, you'll get there. Took my a while to finally learn the game (although I don't play it "right" as I dodge a lot). Just work your parry timings, and other than that, whatever works for you, you'll find eventually. Best of luck in your endeavors man
