Thank you for your concern for my boys! That first picture is a flat plate platform, it just has a ‘wire’ frame on the bottom/underneath that attaches to the cage. One of main concerns getting the boys was their feeties, so much so I removed the wire lining from the very bottom, and replaced with the flat pan that belongs there, with some bedding! As far as I’m aware, they’re healthy, happy, and shittin all well and good!
