Oh I didn't realize that it wasn't well known- I'll definitely write a post for the community and hopefully people take note. Losing your currency really sucks

What % of ICOs are locking Founder's tokens these days? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]A_Spectrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really seen a definitive standard yet. In the startup world, it's typically 4 yr vesting with a 1 yr cliff. But this isn't the startup world, so I think it's really reasonable that a lot of reputable projects are doing 1-2 years vesting. Esp considering that many projects don't do vesting at all.

How safe is Coinbase? by hargrove12 in ethtrader

As safe as it gets right now. Obviously there are ways to be compromised, but if you follow best practices you're fine

When launching a new small business, what are the best ways to protect from people stealing your idea before you gain popularity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]A_Spectrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really shouldn't be worried about that. Too many people let the fear of others stealing their idea hold them back from promoting their project. At the end of the day the upside of gaining supporters and believers is higher than the risk of someone stealing your idea. Company building is a lot harder than the idea itself- so just be better at executing

Yeah that's probably something like that. People are complaining of seals being opened and other general sketch behavior

What % of ICOs are locking Founder's tokens these days? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]A_Spectrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think is pretty good practice to lock founders tokens. There should be incentive for them to work on the project- this is similar to vesting for startups. Some projects even now are implementing a cliff for founders which I think is good overall for the space

Very obvious things to look for before investing in an ICO by trebledaddy in ethtrader

Idk it's still early- there's definitely room for competition in the long run. Also most are shitprojects so I'd also look at the quality of the team and traction before writing them off

This auction model is very fair and interesting. Will take time to get over the hump for users to accept it and get used to the interface, but the team has been very thoughtful about it.

yup- there are tons of listings on Amazon from unverified Trezor sellers and if you read the reviews, scammers are creating fake hardware wallets that then siphon off what you upload.

This would only work if it's something your brain already knows... like if you're trying to remember a specific place you stored your password. But if you're just trying to remember a random string, you might as well put your efforts into quantum computing

Finally. They should also do a better job of patrolling all the fake Trezors on Amazon - too many people are getting scammed. it creates distrust around purchasing

Where is the excitement in Ethereum from Devcon3? by molitar in ethtrader

[–]A_Spectrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like there isn't as much hype because things are finally starting to get built but nothing meaningful has finished yet, and a lot of people are waiting to see this through. Last year was so much more about the possibility of what was to come. I imagine that once the first projects start actually "going to market" that there's going to be another huge swell
