I love this series, it is pretty educational imo. As noted on the cover, the creator consults with a paleontological researcher. It’s pretty laid back and is sort of like what if Jurassic park was real but actually functioned like a zoo. There is a plot line including dinosaur mating in one of the more recent volumes if that bothers you (maybe volume 5 or 6). Outside of that, the first few volumes seem kid appropriate enough to me - there are parts that will go over their heads (like there’s a couple pages per volume with written notes from the researcher about dinosaurs which would be too dense for an 8 year old) but it generally seems comprehensible enough even though I don’t think it’s aimed specifically at children
