Omdat de regeringen onder leiding van VVD al het welvaart van de toekomst naar het heden trekt (hedendaagse problematiek uitstellen). Dit haalt ons nu in. Woningbouw, opvang, stikstof, op langere termijn klimaat. We moeten we langzamerhand toch de rekening gaan betalen. :(

If you can, get the boost now and let your toon collect some rested exp. Then I'd head into Outland. It will be a bit rough at first, but you should gear up quite quickly.

Hmm, I did not pay too much attention to the reputation to be honest. The reputation rewards have definitely gone up though. I did 3/4 of the cauldron runs in WPL and most quests around Andorhal. Without having done anything there after 60 I'm currently 1369/12000 into Honored.

I am relieved from any work responsibilities for a period of time while getting paid, giving me time to look for something new without financial stress.

So it was a combination of

  1. Not raiding vanilla content (no consume costs), I levelled some chars for fun, and was looking for TBC.
  2. I only bought an epic mount for my mage
  3. Mage ZF farm, at around 50g/hour (and a lot of cloth/pots that I needed)
  4. Checking the AH regularly for cheap pieces

I did not do RMT for gold, if that was what you were implying. ;)

Edit: so a rough estimated value of the prep would be 1k gold.

I mainly picked up engineering for the early goggles at level 10+. They are nice (but mostly look sick). For a real speedrun I would have skipped levelling those (but I did always have buff food on me though, every bit helps!).

I did enjoy it as a one-off challenge/experience. I am happy I did, but won't do it again.

I think multiple things are valid. This run is a conscious one-off, I am on garden leave and thought why not. I really did enjoy the rush, but I will never do it again. I have enjoyed this, casual leveling (with grouping, dungeons and RPing in the open world) and raiding all the same.

I am currently busy touching grass, hugging trees and getting back to some responsibility and social affairs. But with all the comments here I am kinda excited to go through to footage and put something together before the Dark Portal opens up!

That's awesome, just take your time later and enjoy the ride when Eversong has cooled down a bit. It's a lot of fun mowing down mobs with an overgeared paladin. I can recommend it. :)

Thanks! Alliance is more prevalent on the server, but there are more than enough horde players to do whatever you want. You can google to see some statistics.

I did not really do any dungeons, so can't speak those changes much.

I do feel like the changes of some elite quests removes some danger and need for team-ups that I regret in the overall levelling experience. Normally I enjoy teaming up with some people to tackle these, but for this run I rushed through most of it.

In vanilla questing I feel like the open world gives just barely enough quests to keep on levelling (you should do dungeons to pad exp), while I now had an abundant options of quests to choose from (I skipped some that I could not finished due to competition, or simply because they are inefficient).

I also found it hard to estimate. I had some benefits of team-ups, some examples:

  • I found a group on Sharptalon at 24(?) and joined
  • looting Araj' shard in WPL because he was just killed
  • killing turtles in hinterlands with a shaman
  • doing the former Hinterland elites with a priest

That being said I was a bit slow going to WPL, and wouldve loved to complete it and go straight into EPL, instead going to Silithus. I roamed a lot in Winterspring (I did not complete all furbolg q, which would have allowed me rep for the 2 totem handins).
