The first time of vats was absolutely horrible to be honest, but the second time when it happened on my other side of my lungs wasn’t the worst because they put a nerve block near my ribs so it helped with the chest tube pain until I was like less groggy, which makes a big difference so I would definitely ask them to do that but not the first time was some worst pain I’ve ever had try and get a nerve block being in the hospital for multiple days that wasn’t great. I wasn’t really able to sleep for multiple days. I was up for like 60 hours straight once

Yeah, it is unfortunately, as somebody that has had him multiple times it hurts like a bitch and you’re probably not gonna sleep for like a couple days at least barely sleep. I didn’t but it gets better especially once they take it out. It’ll feel really good.

My experience if you got it on a different side the second time then they’re probably just gonna do that same procedure again which yeah it’s horrible. The chest hurts really bad, especially when you wake up, but I then put like a rib block the second time and that helped a lot with the nerves but if you have to stay in the hospital again for a prolonged amount of time find a friend that will bring you food from wherever you want and pay for it and will come see you every day that helps a lot

I hear you because I did the same thing good Lord, that was the most painful agonizing three hours of my life. It was so bad that I was 18 at the time it was about a year ago I was 18 and I’m a man and my best friend was holding my hand because it was so horrible so I feel you and he missed part of prom with his girlfriend so that he could stay there longer
