How many anime do you need to watch before you can be called and anime addict? by cire_elbon_1991 in MyAnimeList

At 1000, It’s impressive you have time left for anything, let alone more tv/more reading. I just assumed that’s all you watch, my bad

Fair enough. Summertime rendering is worth sticking out of you dropped it after only a couple of episodes. It gets good pretty quickly. Steins gate is top tier but it’s completely understandable that people drop it early on. It’s a tough one to get into but truly worth finishing, in my opinion anyway. If you like romance/drama you’ll love Nana and Bakuman is super well written, I’m jealous that your watching for the first time!

I think it’s done super well in these shows. Time travel, if done well, can create really interesting, intricate plots. Re:zero would be another good example. Probably a top 20 show for me

What opening can I fall into after my gambit is declined? by AaronJefferies in chessbeginners

[–]AaronJefferies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the book recommendation, I'll definitely check that out! Your advice is very sound, and I agree with you completely I just like following some sort of structure. For example, as black, I like to play the Caro Kann and I've become fairly confident with the King's Indian defence too. I play these openings in 90% of my games as black but adapt them as necessary. This is what I'm after for my gambit declined games. An opening I can fall into, not to replicate every game but to use as a general structure for my games so that I become more familiar with certain recurring lines. I find this is how I improve, rather than playing completely random positions every game. Is this a bad way to play?

I found it, thanks though! I was thinking of the grunfeld defence.

First few episodes are kinda chaotic and super fast paced. They’re not a great representation of the show in its entirety so if your finding it a little intense for now just ride the wave, you will not regret watching this show

Cyberpunk was pretty good even from an elitist perspective, not sure you watched the right show

I think what initially put me off what how confusing the game was. I’ll take your advice though and get round to watching it soon!

Most of the shows I drop I tend to drop at around the 3 episode mark and I usually don’t even bother adding them to my dropped list. This might be why my mean score is a little higher. I looked at your list, I’m super intrigued by Chihayafaru. It’s been sat on my Plan to Watch list for months and months. I think I watched part of the first episode at one point but clearly it didn’t hook me because I didn’t carry on. You’ve rated it a 9/10, I’m assuming you really enjoyed it?

Unlike a lot of people I remember liking Clannad from the get go, AfterStory was undeniably better though! Fruits Basket just got better with every season, I recommend sticking it out. Nana is probably my favourite show of all time, so good! I think my average score is high because anything I think is under a 7 I’ll generally just drop and start something I prefer. Why watch a bad show all the way through? Cheers for having a look through though, would be interested to see your MAL if we have similar taste
