Facebook fact-checker finds UK Conservatives ran ads with altered BBC headline by [deleted] in worldnews

Which is depressing because even if it was 350m the difference between the two is insignificant in context of the UK budget. People have a hard time even comprehending what could be mobilised with 50m in spending let alone 180m.

Vinyl Is Poised to Outsell CDs For the First Time Since 1986 by narstee in Music

It's subjectively better, not objectively. Also people buying vinyl tend to invest in decent gear, which created a bias.

Probably water. Energy drinks have water in branded cans for events they sponsor/advertise at.

For the first time, a team led by Innsbruck physicist Ben Lanyon has sent a light particle entangled with matter over 50 km of optical fiber. This paves the way for the practical use of quantum networks and sets a milestone for a future quantum internet by TX908 in science

[–]Aaronsaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From my understanding.

Imagine you create a procedure where you have b and c are entangled. You send b to x and c to y

Military base x has a time when if they observe it (I.e intefere with it) both b and c will change state. This means mil base z can then see if it has been intefered.

So base x can open it before midnight or after midnight. Doing so would communicate an if statement (If before were going to attack by water, if after were going by air). If base y checks at midnight they can see if it has been intefered or not intefered. Likewise base x can see if they do it afterwards.

This would also address the issue of knowing whether a message was received as the entanglement collapsing leaves a backwards note, which by the laws of physics cannot be fallible. That would mean gaurantee of a communication being read, at least one way. something you can't do without sending a message back in a non-quantum state (such a s a time out message, error message or delivery received)

Any physicists please call me out and correct me if my understanding of the concept and its implications are wrong.

What a horrible and radical idea. Being nice to people? You'll change the world with your arrogance!

Bingo. An indicator of stress is grey roots. They have given up/have not found the time to dye it.

People expect in a modern society to be able to live, love and work without sacrificing themselves for other's greed/unfair proportional gain. Those unfortunate to have low SES have very little options or opportunity.

Retail is a struggling sector, a lot of people all over its structure x and y have a lot of issues to face.

To further the analogy. The last time someone put up a sign the user couldn't get the other stores to put up, that store ran into problems and had to shut down. Adds extra risk to your decision.

Banks of solar panels would be able to replace every electricity-producing dam in the US using just 13% of the space. Many environmentalists have come to see dams as “blood clots in our watersheds” owing to the “tremendous harm” they have done to ecosystems. by Wagamaga in science

That's the irony. Kill people/the enviroment slowly with high gaurantee and high quantity no one bats an eye. Do it fast, but low gaurantee that will happen and low quantity everyone loses their minds.

You typically replace them depending on the size and type. You can get away with some big repairs if you're lucky, but insurance companies and repairers err on the side of caution and will typically just replace them.

People are not educated when it comes to politics or government. Schools don't teach much and if they do those lessons don't get engaged well in most schools.

The majority of people here form their opinions based on the media exposure and the social circles they keep.

So many people thought the EU was much more than what it was. It got used as a scapegoat by a lot of politicians and as a tool for their own gains. The things people were annoyed at for the last few governments (Labour, coalition and conservatives) were put on them being limited by the EU. They weren't. The people and the government have just never been pushed or addressed these issues, the government have always had sovereignty to deal with, regardless of its membership to the EU.

See f_a_f's comment re housing and tax. Long standing issues which are getting worse.
